Following the origin story of Bruce Wayne's popular butler, Epix's Pennyworth series proved to be a hit in the eyes of critics and hardcore Batman fans. Given the show's success, Pennyworth was renewed for a 10-episode second season, giving more answers to Alfred's storied past with the Wayne family.

The first season of Pennyworth ended on an intriguing note, with Alfred dealing with a tragic loss while also putting his working relationship with Thomas Wayne in question. Still, the second season of the show will provide a resolution to those plot points while also introducing familiar characters from the Batman's lore.

It was already confirmed by Pennyworth executive producer Bruno Heller that Lucius Fox will debut in "a big way" during the sophomore run of the show while it was teased that an infant Bruce Wayne could soon arrive as well. And now, an important piece of promotional marketing for Pennyworth has arrived, and it showcased a brand new look at the second season of the hit Epix series.

Epix officially unveiled the first teaser of the second season of Pennyworth . The 40-second trailer showcased a brief first look at actor Simon Manyonda ( Doctor Who ) as Lucius Fox while also hinting that Alfred could soon be making his way to Gotham.

The new trailer of Pennyworth offers more clues on how the narrative will move forward during the second season. The footage clearly shows that Alfred was still reeling from the loss of his father, and it's likely that some episodes will dive deep into the aftermath of his tragic decision.

The much-awaited debut of Simon Manyonda as Lucius Fox will no doubt serve as a main topic among Pennyworth fans, and it will be interesting to see how the Wayne Tech scientist fits into the narrative next season. The trailer's hint that Alfred will finally come to America potentially confirms his imminent arrival to Gotham, and it would make narrative sense for him to cross paths with Fox.

Another notable tidbit was the looming presence of Arkham Asylum, and this will mark the debut of the famed Gotham setting into the Pennyworth universe. By connecting the dots, it seems that the brief appearance of Fox was from the Asylum. That being said, there's a chance that Alfred will be helping Fox in some manner while inside Arkham, establishing the friendship between the two characters.

Whatever the case, the trailer showcased hard-hitting action blended with Alfred's charm demeanor that Pennyworth is best known for while also laying the groundwork for the second season's much-anticipated storylines.
