Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to open a brand-new chapter in the Skywalker Saga, diving deep into the events of the dark times after Revenge of the Sith . Created by Dave Filoni, the series will highlight the adventures of Clone Force 99, a squad of genetically enhanced clones that was first introduced during the final season of The Clone Wars .

The group consists of five members, namely Hunter, the leader; Echo, a cyborg; Tech, the mechanical expert; Crosshair, a marksman; and Wrecker, the team's bruiser. Many would agree that these five individuals stole the show during their appearance in The Clone Wars , and it will be interesting to see how they will fare with their very own series.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but the main trailer for the show confirmed the Empire's involvement in the narrative.

Now, it looks like the head of the dangerous faction has been confirmed to appear to spell trouble for the Bad Batch.

EMPEROR PALPATINE'S IMPACT TO CLONE FORCE 99

This poster basically confirmed the inclusion of Emperor Palpatine in The Bad Batch. The looming presence of the Empire makes narrative sense timeline-wise, but the addition of Palpatine is surprising since it could hint that there are bigger things in play in the show's story.

Based on what's been revealed so far, it was teased in the show's trailer that the squad is on the run from the Imperial forces led by Grand Moff Tarkin. It's possible that the strategic might of Clone Force 99 was too much to bear for the Empire, and Palpatine will need to step in at some point to map out a different strategy.

In addition, Palpatine's confirmed involvement could also hint at the potential inclusion of Darth Vader. After the main trailer established Captain Rex and Fennec Shand's presence, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is shaping up to be an exciting series filled with guest appearances from notable members of the Skywalker Saga.

The arrival of Palpatine will definitely make things harder for Clone Force 99, but it's safe to say that the squad will not go down without a fight.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 4, 2021.
