Richard Nebens holds a position as The Direct's Senior Writer.
Richard first joined The Direct in March 2020 and plays a big role in the site's day-to-day operations by writing, editing, ideating, and posting articles daily, helping readers keep up with the latest from every fandom. He started his writing career in July 2019 with MCU Exchange, worked as a writer/podcast host with The Illuminerdi from 2020 to 2022, and contributed to Agents of Fandom as a writer, interviewer, and podcast guest. He also began writing for MovieWeb in early 2026 and has conducted multiple in-person interviews on- and off-camera.
Prior to joining The Direct, Richard worked a variety of jobs, including as a bellman, valet, photographer, and escape room manager; he later went on to own a brewery/sports bar in South Lake Tahoe, California. Richard earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Business/Management from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, as part of the class of 2013.
