The Mandalorian was a runaway hit when it first premiered as part of the launch of Disney+ last November. The live action series launched the internet phenomenon that is The Child (a.k.a. Baby Yoda) and produced a surprisingly positive reception from the typically divided Star Wars fan base.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as Mando or Din Djarin, a lone bounty hunter who progressively becomes a father figure to The Child throughout the events of the season 1.

The Mandalorian 's second season is set to debut on October 30 with eight new episodes. Promotion for the anticipated second season has been ramping up in recent weeks, including the release of the season's new logo and new images from the season via Entertainment Weekly .

But what fans have been anticipating the most is a trailer and a preview of what to expect in the second season.

The trailer offered a surprising amount of footage, showing Mando and The Child fulfilling the Armorer's instructions from the first season which is to find The Child's own kind.

This mission looks to allow The Mandalorian to expand its scope and explore more of the Star Wars galaxy and its inhabitants, all while Favreau and producer Dave Filoni continue to pepper Star Wars fans with nostalgia via X-Wings, Tusken Raiders, Banthas, and speeder bikes.

We also see the return of Greef Karga played by Carl Weathers and Cara Dune played by Gina Carano while also offering the first look at Sasha Banks' mystery character. Futhermore, we catch glimpses of Star Wars planets both familiar and new from that galaxy far, far away.

The trailer also teases The Child's connection to the Force and future interactions with the Jedi.
