Hot off the press comes word that Lucasfilm is developing a spin-off series for The Mandalorian , starring Gina Carano as Cara Dune. The show, rumored to be in the works for Disney+, was said to have come up as a possibility during The Mandalorian season 2's shoot, when Carano hit it off with a new cast member.
There has, of course, been no official word on the existence of this series, but several outlets have backed up the legitimacy of the initial report. Accompanied by the rumor of the show's development was a detail that suggested a familiar friend would be attached to the project, and that character's identity has just been made clear...
Kessel Run Transmissions has reported on their YouTube show that Bo-Katan Kryze, played by Katee Sakhoff, will star alongside Cara Dune in the Mandalorian spin-off.
The crew over at KRT go on to say that the project is more of a "team-up series" that focuses equally on both characters, with the timeline of the events remaining an unknown.

WHAT THIS MEANS
Star Wars Unity 's initial report was pretty open about who the mystery character was at the time of the initial rumor, so here we have KRT's full reveal. Bo-Katan adds a new element to a series that would follow Cara Dune, as the former Death Watch member-turned-freedom fighter has plenty of skeletons in her closet .
We haven't seen the second season of The Mandalorian yet and have no way of knowing how Bo-Katan's role will play out, but already there can be comparisons drawn between the two characters. Cara Dune hails from Alderaan and Bo-Katan Mandalore, both of which were destroyed by the Empire, to varying degrees of extremity.
KRT raised the possibility that Dune and Kryze already knew each other before the events of The Mandalorian, and that their pre-existing relationship is what brings the latter into the fold. Bo-Katan being a contact that Cara Dune reaches out to in the midst of a disastrous situation is conceivable, but it's equally likely that they'll be meeting for the first time come season 2.
This show remains unconfirmed, and likely will for some time, so none of this official. Still, the possibility of a Cara Dune and Bo-Katan team-up is compelling, and depending on how their relaionship develops in The Mandalorian, this show could have serious potential.
