With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, these are troubling times for many. And although the spread of COVID-19 has resulted in a slew of cancellations, delays and production suspensions for many movies, television series and comic cons, the Star Wars fanbase may have just been given a bit of a silver lining.

NEWS

The popular Video-on-Demand service, VUDU, just announced via Twitter, that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available to purchase digitally, a few days before it was originally set to drop. This was most likely a clever marketing move, designed to give everyone stuck inside something to watch during the Coronavirus outbreak.

What's more is that the film can also be purchased through a variety of other VOD services as well.

WHAT THIS MEANS

While the digital version of the film was set to drop Tuesday anyway, this is still exciting news. Hopefully, it will provide Star Wars fans with a much needed escape to a Galaxy far, far away to get away from all of this doom and gloom in the news right now. I know I'll definitely be giving the film a rewatch this weekend.
