Stellan Skarsgard Joins Cassian Andor Series Cast In Addition To Kyle Soller

Cassian Cast

While there have been recent updates on the state of the Cassian Andor series' production, little has been revealed in terms of new cast members. Special effects supervisor Neal Scanlan has hinted that familiar creatures may make an appearance in the show , but beyond that all we know is Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will be reprising their roles as Cassian Andor and K-2SO, respectively. Production on the series was halted due to the coronavirus outbreak, although Scanlan recently shared that six weeks of pre-production had been completed prior to the hiatus. However, it appears that work is still being done on the series, as we now have our first new cast members set to join our Rebel spy's TV series...

An exclusive report from Variety reveals that actors Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller have been cast in unspecified roles for the Cassian Andor TV series. Both actors are in the final stages of contract negotiations.

It's anyone's guess as to who these actors could be playing. Skarsgard is a very successful actor, last seen in the popular show Chernobyl , and is set to appear in the highly-anticipated adaptation of Dune . Soller has spent the early parts of his career acting in British television series, and recently appeared in the comedy show 101 Dalmatian Street and the HBO film Brexit .

Details on this story of the Star Wars spinoff show are still scarce, but we know it's been described as a spy thriller that will dig into Cassian's past. Until we hear more about the plot, it's hard to speculate on the roles these actors will have. Lucasfilm appears to be continuing their trend of bringing aboard well known actors for their Disney + shows, as they similarly cast Werner Herzog, Carl Weathers, and now Michael Biehn in The Mandalorian. Could either of these actors also be playing Imperials taken out by their own commanding officer? Or maybe they'll be Cassian's allies in the Rebellion? We will watch this development with great interest...
