Spider Man News and Rumors

Spider-Man is one of the most popular comic book superheroes of all time, and since his introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his fanbase has grown exponentially.

Spider Man MCU news had been circling for a number of years following the critical and commercial disappointment of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, leading many to hope that the MCU would find a way to integrate the web-slinger into its own movies.

Luckily for fans of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige was able to work a deal between Sony and Marvel to bring Spidey home, casting Tom Holland as the new version of the wall-crawler. The character’s journey began in Captain America: Civil War, where he fought alongside Team Iron Man to help fend off Steve Rogers’ group of Avengers.

Thrilled by his experience fighting alongside Tony Stark, Peter continued his crime-fighting in Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts. Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man teamed up with Spidey once again in the film, which also delved into Peter Parker’s school life and his battle against Michael Keaton’s Vulture.

Avengers Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame followed shortly after, finally putting Peter Parker in the big leagues with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. After the battle with Thanos came Spider-Man: Far From Home, which dealt with the aftermath of the death of Tony Stark and a confrontation with Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio.

Sadly for Marvel fans, Spider Man news broke shortly after Far From Home which jeopardized the future of the MCU super hero, with Marvel Studios and Sony having some trouble with working out a new arrangement. Fortunately, the studios were able to renegotiate a deal that kept Tom Holland’s hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That led to the newest Spiderman movie: Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Spidey threequel arguably generated the largest amount of Spiderman movie news yet, thanks to speculation about tons of rumored Spiderman characters cameoing in No Way Home.

This included the rumors that multiple versions of Spider Man would be appearing in the movie. In addition to the Spider Men, past villains from the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb-directed films cause trouble for the webhead, including Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin.

Spiderman articles upon Spider-Man articles speculated on whether Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider Men could actually appear, only spurred on further by the tease of Doc-Ock and Green Goblin in the movie’s trailer.

Excitement for the latest Spiderman movie was also built thanks to the confirmed inclusion of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, which ultimately dovetailed into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Spider Man No Way Home debuted with critical and commercial success, smashing box office records and delivering a satisfying conclusion to the Homecoming trilogy. Not only that, but it also revealed that the rumors of three Spider-Men teaming up were in fact true, culminating in a jaw-dropping final battle.

Fans even got a small glimpse at the future of the Spider verse, with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock appearing briefly in the post-credits scene after jumping over from Venom: Let There be Carnage.

Now, fans are avidly anticipating Spider Man 4 and where it could take Peter Parker’s story next. Will MJ and Ned Leeds be back? Is Spiderman going to gain the symbiote suit? Could Peter Parker ever crossover with Sony’s Venom and Morbius?

Tom Holland has yet to confirm his return for Spider-Man: 4. In fact, after the release of No Way Home, Tom Holland promised to help whatever young actor replaces him as Spider-Man.
