Tom Holland's Spider-Man 3: Zendaya Shares Update on Marvel Production: 'I've Been Chillin''

Marvel Studios is currently hard at work getting their brand new slate of projects ready for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the main focus right now is on the Disney+ shows that kick off with WandaVision just over a month from now , the MCU’s silver screen movies are well on their way to being completed as well.

The film most likely in the forefront of fans’ minds right now is the untitled Spider-Man 3 , which is set to be one of the largest scale solo Spidey movies ever put to screen. Very little is known about the story, and fans are still eagerly awaiting the movie’s official title. But, it has at least officially started filming in Atlanta as of a few weeks ago.

This was confirmed once again on a new podcast by one of the stars of all three Spider-Man films set within the MCU.

In a recent appearance on the OTHERtone podcast , MCU star Zendaya confirmed that she is currently in Atlanta shooting the untitled Spider-Man 3 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked if the time she took to record was supposed to be time off for her, Zendaya offered this classically funny response:

"Oh no, I've been chillin' out here. We haven't really started to get to my stuff too much yet, so I've been having a lot of downtime, so I've just been literally kickin' it."

Even with Zendaya showing off the usual sense of humor she brings both on-screen and behind the scenes, the confirmation that she's in Atlanta filming is yet another exciting sign of how far this movie is into production. Fans are still waiting to find out any details as to what the plot of this movie will entail, but the hope is growing that specifics will find their way into the light as more material is recorded on film.

It doesn't appear that Zendaya has been in front of the camera for too much time yet, although early set videos from Atlanta appear to show her and Tom Holland taking on the first of many stunt days on set together. There are no details on how Michelle Jones' story will move forward in this third installment, although she should play a pivotal role in helping Peter Parker through his myriad of problems as he teams up with Doctor Strange in his superhero life.

The untitled Spider-Man 3 is in the early stages of shooting in Atlanta, Georgia as it prepares to release in theaters on December 17, 2021.
