The next movie on Marvel Studios’ theatrical slate is Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which will feature Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder in live-action for the first time in more than three years. While this sequel makes Thor the first MCU hero to get four solo films, its promotional tour also set a new MCU standard when its first trailer released on April 18.

That trailer release date gave Thor: Love and Thunder the shortest promotional window for any movie in MCU history, although it gave fans an exciting look at what’s in store for the former Asgardian king. Teasing his adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy while providing the first full look at Natalie Portman as The Mighty Thor, that trailer gave fans plenty to chew on with just under 90 seconds of footage.

Now that Thor 4 is less than 50 days away from its theatrical debut, anticipation is building with regard to when a second trailer will go public and what it could add to the sequel’s promo tour. Now, while there are no specifics on what fans will see in that new look, a recent rumor is now hinting at when the world will see it in full.

Insider Daniel Richtman shared on his Patreon account that Marvel Studios plans to drop a second trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder on Monday, May 23. The post also indicated that a tease for this trailer is set to arrive tomorrow, May 21.

This comes just over a month after Thor 4's first trailer first came online, and under two months before the July 8 release.

This trailer could debut during Game 4 of the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, which will air on ABC. With both Marvel and ABC under the Disney umbrella, the two media moguls have partnered together in the past for MCU trailers in the past, which could be a good indicator of what will happen with Thor 4.

What to Expect In Thor 4's Next Trailer

With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness having been in theaters for two full weeks, most viewers are caught up on everything the MCU has to offer on the big screen and on Disney+. Now, with under three weeks until Ms. Marvel, Thor: Love and Thunder will take over the spotlight for a few days as it prepares for its July 8 release.

The big question: how much more material will Marvel Studios show in Thor 4’s second trailer?

One of the sequel’s biggest mysteries is Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher, the movie’s main villain who wasn’t seen in any footage from the first trailer. The former Batman actor has barely been seen in any promo material whatsoever and considering the praise he’s gotten for his performance from Waititi, anticipation is high to see how frightening and intimidating he looks on screen.

There could also be another look into Zeus and the Gods of Olympus or a deeper dive into New Asgard on Earth under Valkyrie’s rule. And of course, with only one full shot of Jane Foster and a couple of still images showing her without the Thor helmet, there’s a good chance that the sequel’s new heroine will get more shine this time around.

No matter what comes in this new trailer, new footage is always welcome ahead of the next big Marvel movie release. As fans debate about the recent reports concerning Thor 4’s runtime, this new trailer will be something that brings them together to celebrate what’s on the way.

Thor: Love and Thunder will debut in theaters on July 8. The second trailer for this film is now set to arrive on Monday, May 23.
