Kathryn Newton, the newest actress for Cassie Lang, even hinted that she would suit up as Stature and grow giant-sized.
Marvel's Ant-Man 3 was revealed to be officially titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaina at Disney's Investor Day presentation, with filming reportedly beginning in June 2021. And now Michael Douglas, the Hank Pym actor from the Ant-Man franchise, has made a social media post that further hints to this filming time-frame for Scott Lang's third MCU solo outing.
Michael Douglas has posted on Instagram saying, “Time to grow the goatee...Hank Pym is back!” and that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be “coming in 2022!”
WHAT THIS MEANS
Before getting too excited, it should be noted that Michelle Pfeiffer also said that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania would release in 2022 on Instagram before later retracting that comment. However, Douglas growing out his goatee does indicate that the filming date of “spring of 2021” is correct.
It's very confusing that multiple Ant-Man 3 actors have done this now, so fans shouldn't be surprised if Douglas (or whoever runs his Instagram account) edits out the comment about the film's release date, the same way it was done with Pfeiffer. It could be that Marvel Studios hasn't yet determined if the threequel will truly be released on October 7, 2022 or not.
Another possibility is that it may have been definitively decided that Quantumania will release in 2022, as the filming date of spring 2021 would make this release make a lot of sense. However, it is a bit odd for such a huge blockbuster movie to release in October when the studio has never released a film in this month before.
