Even though it's only been in theaters for a less than a month, Spider-Man: No Way Home has already shattered numerous records. The threequel generated the biggest opening weekend box office in over two years, eclipsed Spider-Man: Far From Home as Sony Pictures's most profitable movie, and entered the illustrious top ten of highest-grossing films of all time.
With this type of bullet train momentum, Sony is clearing the tracks to ensure No Way Home keeps on rolling. Reports speculated that beyond COVID-19 concerns, Morbius was delayed from January to April in an effort to keep the spotlight solely on Spider-Man.
While Spider-Man: No Way Home is bound to slow down at the theaters eventually, Sony is preparing to migrate the momentum to home release.
Spider-Man: No Way Home's Digital Release Announced
Peter Parker has found a way home.
Digital movie retailer Vudu revealed that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be available to purchase on digital beginning February 28, 2022. Fans can pre-order Tom Holland's threequel now for $19.99 USD in standard definition, high definition, and 4K ultra-high definition.
No Way Home will be available for digital purchase via Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, and Vudu.
Spider-Man: Coming to Your Home
Unlike Marvel Studios' traditional theatrical releases, Sony's Spider-Man: No Way Home has a bit of home video exclusivity.
In the Disney+ era, Marvel Cinematic Universe films have started streaming within a couple of months of their theatrical debuts. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings became available on the House of Mouse's streaming service just two months after it debuted in cinemas, and Eternals will follow suit soon.
Unlike those aforementioned pictures, Spider-Man: No Way Home is Sony property. As one of the few remaining studio giants without a streaming service, digital purchase remains the earliest way to bring the web-slinger home. Sony does have a streaming agreement in place with Disney+, but that won't take effect until sometime in 2023.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is in theaters now and will be available for digital purchase on February 28, 2022.
