Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow Looks Battle-Scarred In New Movie Image

Black Widow was Marvel Studios' first victim in the massive delays that struck Hollywood due to the ongoing pandemic. While not delayed nearly as much as Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow was delayed twice with a new release date of May 7, 2021. In that time, Marvel Studios has still been releasing trailers, interviews, and of course, preview images from the movie.

It's actually impressive that fans still don't know much about the plot of Black Widow despite being delayed a whole year, while Marvel Studios is still trickling out marketing for it with snippets of new footage and images to show audiences. In Disney's latest preview kit for upcoming releases in 2021, they included a new image from Black Widow.

An image showing a tired-looking Natasha Romanoff kneeling on a dirt field and what appears to be plane debris behind her. This image likely takes place just after her mid-air fight with Taskmaster seen in the many trailers, in which they both fought around other blown-up planes. Additionally, in some of the trailers, fans will notice a scene of Widow in this same costume with Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, who has her parachute deployed as they're standing on the ground.

It's also very cool to see all the details on Scarlett Johansson's costume for Black Widow, especially how dirty and worn out it looks. Her gauntlets look almost rusted by this point and her shoulder pad has taken a few dings, likely from her fight with the copycat villain.

It's hard to tell when this would take place in Black Widow since Natasha also sports a very striking white suit in snowy terrain, but since it appears that she helps break out Red Guardian from a Russian prison wearing that white suit, this scene seems to take place later in the movie. For all fans know, it could be the climax shortly after Taskmaster has been defeated.

Before Black Widow, fans will get to enjoy WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the latter of which may or may not directly connect to Marvel Studios' first movie in 2021.
