2021 will go down as a historic year for Marvel Studios with the release of four theatrical films and six episodic series debuting on Disney+.
Fans have already received a taste of the MCU's Phase Four with Wandavision as well as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. With the release of the highly-anticipated Loki series just around the corner, it is easy to overlook the exciting upcoming projects that will be coming to the Disney+ streaming service later in the year.
When Hailee Steinfeld was confirmed to be fighting alongside Jeremy Renner in the forthcoming Hawkeye series, many fans were ecstatic. Steinfeld has established herself as one of Hollywood's top young actresses and has expressed multiple times over the past months that she is more than excited to be sporting the bow of Kate Bishop.
HAILEE STEINFELD: THE ARCHER QUEEN
As filming for Hawkeye recently wrapped up, Steinfeld has conveyed that not only is it "exciting" to be portraying the character of Kate Bishop, but also that archery has become something that she "genuinely, really enjoy(s)."
In the May 2021 issue of SFX Magazine via Twitter, Steinfeld was asked, "Have you become adept at archery now?"
She responded:
"As far as a bow and arrow goes, I'm pretty damn good! And I'll say it's something that I genuinely, really enjoy. Not something I've ever picked up, a bow, before this project. So something that I definitely recommend - it's a sport that anybody can play and start at any point in their life. And it's truly therapeutic and just really amazing. Not something I'd ever see myself doing. But here I am! And I absolutely love it."
Steinfeld also added that joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Hawkeye has been "a wonderful experience so far - another rollercoaster ride, to say the least," for her.
KATE BISHOP IS IN THE RIGHT HANDS
It is very encouraging for fans to hear Steinfeld so passionately talk about her love for archery. When an actor/actress takes on a role that requires them to excel at a certain physical sport, it helps a great deal for them to enjoy it as well.
Steinfeld's reputation as an actor speaks for itself based on her past projects such as Dickinson and Bumblebee, so fan excitement will peak when she is finally on-screen donning Kate Bishop's bow and arrow.
Hawkeye will be released in late 2021 on Disney+ along with a stacked lineup of other Marvel projects premiering this year. Many fans simply can not wait to see the trio of Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, and, of course, Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop.
