With nearly half a dozen projects that currently have cameras rolling for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe , the world is finally starting to learn more background information on what to expect with the new upcoming movies and Disney+ shows. This is pushed along by the major announcements that came at the Disney Investor's Day presentation this month, which debuted new confirmed projects and set in stone a handful of roles that had been rumored and reported on for some time.
One of the officially announced roles was Hailee Steinfeld playing Kate Bishop in Disney+'s Hawkeye , which came after leaked set photos and videos showed her suiting up with starring actor Jeremy Renner. This show is set to be the last of six MCU series releasing in 2021, so there is still plenty of footage that still needs to be shot, but the early images of Steinfeld give every indication that she will fill this role well.
For all the excitement that is building to see Kate Bishop come to life, Steinfeld's own recent quotes show that she is looking forward to seeing the end results as much as anybody.
NEWS
Kate Bishop actress Hailee Steinfeld recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss her excitement to bring the archer to life in Marvel Studios' Disney+ series Hawkeye .
Describing Bishop as "such a badass," Steinfeld expresses how much she is looking forward to people seeing the work that she and the team behind the show are putting in to lift the hero off the pages of Marvel Comics:
"I’m just so excited. As I’m in the process of developing her, I’m working with some incredible filmmakers that are helping me bring her to life. I can’t wait for people just to see how we are interpreting this character through the comics and in her own sort of ways. She’s such a badass, there’s no denying that. She’s so smart and witty and quick and her physical ability to do so many things is through the roof. It’s really tested me and it’s kept me going through quarantine, I will say, it’s given me a reason to stay with it. But I’m very excited as I continue developing her to see sort of how we come up with it all."

WHAT THIS MEANS
Even though no specifics are revealed as to how Kate Bishop's story will unfold in her introduction to the MCU, Steinfeld is clearly putting in the work needed to make her the physical force she's become through her run in the comics. Rumors pointed to Steinfeld landing this role as early as July, and she is still developing the numerous aspects of Bishop's character and personality as filming continues into the early stages of 2021 .
This is also another indication of how dedicated the team at Marvel Studios is to making these Disney+ series something truly special , particularly by debuting a character as popular as Kate Bishop in Jeremy Renner's first solo MCU project. Like all MCU adaptions, Kate Bishop won't be a carbon copy of the version that has graced the pages of the comics, but the Marvel Studios team is using her run for plenty of inspiration as Steinfeld takes on Bishop's first live-action adaptation.
Hawkeye is currently filming and will begin streaming on Disney+ in late 2021.
