Top Marvel News of the week

Hey Marvel Fans! I hope everyone is staying safe in this troubling week we have all had. It's impossible for me to write this intro and not comment on the injustice that took place earlier this week. It's a tragedy that we live in a world with real supervillains, and not enough superheroes. To all those protesting, thank you for standing up and making your voices heard.

Now to move on to a much less important topic, the top MCU news of the week! It was another light week for MCU news, as it seemed Warner Bros. controlled the spotlight this week with a plethora of exciting DC news. Rob Liefeld has continued to antagonize Disney by posting a crude image of Deadpool holding up a dead Mickey Mouse on his social feeds. X-Men fans were pleased to hear James Mangold, the director of Logan, commented that the MCU’s Wolverine would probably see him don his tradational yellow and black costume. Pete Hernandez wrote an excellent article looking at 10 MCU scenes that were adapted straight from the comics to the big screen. Aeron Mer Eclarinal also wrote a very compelling article detailing how Sony’s recently announced Madame Web movie could tie Marvel Studios MCU and Sony’s SMU together.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Comments on When The Film Will Release

We got a brief comment from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn this week about the status of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Gunn comments that we probably won’t end up seeing Guardians 3 until “a little after 2021”. While everything in the movie industry is still up in the air due to the pandemic, it is still good to hear that there is a time table in place for the Guardians 3 release. If you want to read our thoughts, as well links to everything we know about Guardians 3, click here.

2. Kit Harington Comments on Status of The Eternals

Providing us more info about The Eternals' new schedule, Black Knight actor Kit Harrington recently commented about The Eternals production, stating that it “is done, that's filmed”. What feels like a million years ago, on April 3 Marvel delayed many of their Phase 4 movies, including delaying The Eternals to February 12, 2021. Harington's words should be reassuring to fans who were worried about another delay. If you would like to read Harington’s full quote and our thoughts on this, read here.

1. J.K. Simmons Is Contracted For Multiple Spider-Man Movie Appearances as J.J. Jameson

My favorite news of the week, J.K. Simmons commented on a recent episode of Couch Surfing that he is signed up to appear in sequels to Spider-Man: Far From Home. This indicates that he is under a multi-film contract with Sony, which is great news for fans of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Trilogy. Read J.K. Simmons full quotes and our thoughts on him returning as J. Jonah Jameson in our article here.

Thanks again everyone, stay safe.  Be sure to keep a look out on our socials for exciting news tomorrow!
