Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is coming up fast and MCU fans cannot wait. The Doctor Strange-centric sequel hits theaters in early May, kicking off the big screen slate for Marvel Studios in 2022. The Multiversal adventure is set to see Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange team up with MCU mainstay Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and newcomer Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.

Multiverse of Madness marks the first time Gomez will make herself known in the MCU, taking on fan-favorite Marvel character America Chavez.

The upcoming sequel will breach the barriers of reality, including a myriad of cameos from across the Marvel-verse. But it will be Olsen, Cumberbatch, and now Gomez who will ground fans in the adventure. And joining the MCU can be a daunting task, especially in a project as big as MoM, but thankfully, Gomez has plenty of help.

The Direct got our hands on Disney's latest D23 magazine, and within it, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Xochitl Gomez shared the pieces of advice her veteran co-stars offered for her MCU debut.

Gomez revealed she was told by Elizabeth Olsen that "Marvel really means it when they say they want your input" and that "she should never hesitate to share an idea:"

"She told me that Marvel really means it when they say they want your input. She said I should never hesitate to share an idea with them or give them feedback. I am glad she told me that because it gave me more confidence to put my two cents in whenever I had something useful to add. I am just happy I can say Lizzie Olsen gave me advice!"

The young actress tried taking in everything she could from her time with Olsen "[watching] every move she [made]:"

"I watched every move she makes. I loved watching her prepare for scenes because she's such an incredible actress. And she's just so cool and friendly; I really like her."

As for Benedict Cumberbatch, the MCU newcomer praised the veteran actor for being so "generous and patient." She went on to say it was "cool to see his process and how much thought he put into his performance," something she took upon herself and put into her work.

Ushering in the Next Generation of Marvel

While fans have been welcoming in the next generation of MCU superstars, it is very cool to see that the vets of the franchise are happy doing the same. It feels like every Marvel actor knows that this is a cyclical thing, and they cannot do this forever. So, to see the likes of Olsen and Cumberbatch helping along a newcomer in Xochitl Gomez is very cool.

It could have very easily gone the other way. If stories had come out of these seasoned actors not taking a fairly raw talent in Gomez seriously on-set it would not have been all that surprising.

However, in recent years the stars of these films have embraced ushering in the next-gen and helping them along in their journey. This is not to say that Olsen or Cumberbatch's heroes are nearly done in the MCU, but eventually, they will have to fade into the background, doing something similar to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark or Chris Evans' Steve Rogers.

Gomez will be front and center alongside these faces of the franchise when Multiverse of Madness debuts in theaters on May 6.
