The marketing campaign for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now in high gear with just over a week until Marvel Studios returns to theaters with its next blockbuster. While this means that the marketing campaign is teasing moments from the film such as the Illuminati's introduction and the Scarlet Witch's advancement with magic, there are plenty of secrets that remain hidden.
More so than any project before it, Doctor Strange 2 will fully tackle the concept of Variants, which was first introduced in Loki before expanding further in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Along with Patrick Stewart's Professor X, fans recently got their first glimpse at the originally animated Captain Carter from What If...?, which is just the start of the craziness within the Multiversal sequel.
During the Super Bowl TV spot and trailer, fans caught a glimpse of a character that could have been either a version of Superior Iron Man or a Variant of Captain Marvel with Maria Rambeau under the mask.
Now, as Doctor Strange 2 inches closer to its debut, a new TV spot provides the best look yet at this mysterious Multiversal visitor.
Captain Marvel Variant in Doctor Strange Spot
Marvel Studios released a new TV spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that featured the best look yet at a variant of Captain Marvel.
In the movie's Super Bowl spot, many believed they saw a character that looked like a new version of Iron Man. Now, this character returns in the most recent TV spot as she flies through the Illuminati headquarters and shoots photon blasts from her fists.
It also looks more clear than ever that this version of Captain Marvel is Maria Rambeau instead of Carol Danvers.

Another Appearance for Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel is quickly becoming one of the biggest characters in the MCU, as she's already set for a solo sequel in 2023 alongside two new female power players in Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. Now, Doctor Strange 2 looks to give the hero another appearance long before that movie as a Maria Rambeau Variant flies into the action amongst the Multiversal insanity.
At the moment, there are no signs pointing to how Variants like Rambeau will come into play, although it looks like the Illuminati headquarters will play a big part in that venture. This new take on Captain Marvel appears to be unleashing her power in that same location, and how she fits into the narrative will certainly be something fans watch out for throughout the film.
Even with so much mystery, Rambeau's Captain Marvel will be an incredibly tough physical matchup for Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff, and whoever else comes in her path. There most likely won't be any more footage of this new Variant before the movie debuts, leaving plenty of excitement still to see in the final cut.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will debut in theaters on May 6.
