Marvel Studios' Phase 4 slate is packed with films and Disney+ series fans are eagerly anticipating, from Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to Hawkeye

However, one of the studio's most important upcoming films is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - a sequel to 2018's groundbreaking Black Panther starring Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman's passing threw the sequel into question; but ultimately, Marvel Studios decided to move forward with the original film's director, Ryan Coogler, and the majority of the original cast with Letitia Wright's Shuri as the film's potential new lead

While Wakanda Forever's story is being kept under wraps, fans have been able to gather some information due to where the film has been shooting on-location and revealing online casting calls; and now, a new posting offered another hint about what audiences might see in 2023.

Backyard Party Casting Call for Black Panther 2

Black Panther

An "urgent" casting call for a "small backyard party scene" in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was recently posted on Facebook by Tammy Smith Casting - Atlanta.

The agency is looking for Black men and women ages 30 to 50 years; however, the post also emphasizes new faces only. The work date is scheduled for Friday, October 15, 2021.

This call came from the same casting agency that requested scuba divers for a Wakanda Forever crime scene, as well as men, women, and children for a traditional, Mexican village scene within the upcoming sequel.

Black Panther 2's Various Filming Locations

Even though the film is titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Wakanda won't be the film's only location.

To date, fans know that filming took place on-location in Cambridge, Massachusetts and that the sequel looks to have scenes involving water, a Mexican village, and now, a backyard party.

In addition to potential new locations, the Black Panther sequel will also feature new faces. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, will make her debut in the film out ahead of her Ironheart Disney+ series. Also, the sequel will reportedly feature the MCU debut of Namor the Submariner.

Since Thorne's Riri Williams was spotted filming at MIT in Cambridge along with Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira, it's possible that this new backyard scene could play into Riri's introduction into the film and maybe her own backstory.

Regardless, continued reports and casting call descriptions support the fact that Wakanda Forever isn't just expanding the Black Panther cast but also the film's scope.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to release in theaters on July 8, 2022.
