Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson Footage

After a wildly successful outing in Summer 2020, DC FanDome is officially on its way back with a vengeance in 2021, in more ways than one.

With the DC Extended Universe taking most of the spotlight, fans are certainly looking forward to footage and news from more than half a dozen movies coming between now and 2023. Highlighted by outings like Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and Ezra Miller’s The Flash, this year appears set to bring highlights for every minute of the event’s four-hour runtime.

Also included in that group is a movie that has more than a decade of hype supporting it in Black Adam.

Finally, having its official release date confirmed for summer 2022, Dwayne Johnson is taking the opportunity to make the movie he’s dreamed of making since development first surfaced in 2006. Now, ahead of its DC FanDome 2021 panel, fans have their first look at just how exciting Black Adam will truly be.

Black Adam Finally Going Public

Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to post a 22-second video teasing the first look at Warner Bros.' Black Adam, which will come at DC FanDome 2021. The post also confirms that Black Adam will "kick off" DC FanDome, as its panel will start at approximately 10:06 AM PST.

The footage included a shot of a city in ruins as Black Adam sits on a throne and surveys the damage.

Johnson's anti-hero gets a better shot as he flies over the same city as the actor's muscle is shown off in full form, even at a distance.

The DCEU Going Full Rock

Pierce Brosnan may have put it best when he said in the clip that "Nothing compares to this." Fans have spent years waiting for the Black Adam movie to become a reality, and with the footage in this short tease, it appears to finally be happening.

Johnson embodies every bit of strength and power in the classic DC anti-hero as he takes center stage during this footage. His character shows off every bit of confidence as he sits on his throne and utilizes his flight capabilities, and that doesn't even count Johnson's classic look toward the camera that he's mastered in his rise to super stardom.

While it's unclear if the first look at DC FanDome will be a full trailer or more of a behind-the-scenes look, fans are anxious to see more of Johnson alongside Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate and Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, amongst much more. No matter what comes from this panel, it's abundantly clear that DC FanDome 2021 will fly out of the gates right from the start.

Black Adam is set to premiere in theaters on July 29, 2022.
