Black Adam is one of the much-awaited projects from the massive slate of the DC Extended Universe, and it seems that the wait will soon be over. The upcoming superhero film will showcase the DCEU debut of Dwayne Johnson as the titular antihero from Kahndaq.

After being stuck in development for years, Johnson and the rest of the cast and crew will be given the prime opportunity to unveil how the hierarchy of power in the DC universe will change, and there have been consistent teases from the lead star in the past months.

During DC FanDome, the first official teaser revealed fresh looks at concept art of Johnson’s Black Adam character alongside the confirmation that the Justice Society of America will be involved in the narrative. This superhero group will be led by Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate

Production of Black Adam has been ongoing for months, and Johnson has been consistent in sharing updates straight from his social media profile. From teasing the debut of Black Adam's new costume all the way to being sentimental about crafting the origin story of the antihero, the actor has provided fans with solid reveals and teases along the way.

Now, another major production update from Johnson has emerged online.

DWAYNE JOHNSON CONFIRMS BLACK ADAM WRAPS FILMING

Dwayne Johnson confirmed via a new Instagram post that Black Adam has wrapped filming.

In a heartfelt video, Johnson revealed that the opportunity to make Black Adam was a "once in a career event." The former WWE champion then thanked the rest of the cast and crew who helped in bringing the antihero to life.

The full statement can be seen below:

"Honored and proud to say that’s an official wrap on BLACK ADAM⚡️

PROMOTION FOR BLACK ADAM COMING SOON?

This latest production update should serve as good news for DC fans who are anticipating a first live-action look at Dwayne Johnson's costume for the film or even an initial teaser. The production wrap also fits the timeline for Black Adam, considering that the film will be released in July 2022.

Johnson's immense passion towards Black Adam is apparent from the get-go, and this recent social media post should further hammer that point home. The WWE legend's comment about Black Adam serving as a "career definer" for him is a powerful statement, especially since this is Johnson's first role in an expansive superhero universe.

It's also worth noting that Black Adam didn't experience any production delays, making this a notable feat as the world is still in a global pandemic. This is on top of having a large-scale production alongside hundreds of crew members and a stacked ensemble of stars.

It remains to be seen when a new teaser will be revealed for Black Adam, but there's a good chance that it will be released during this year's DC FanDome event. For now, fans can count on Johnson for major updates about the film, and it will be interesting to find out if he decides to unveil the official look at the titular character's costume in the coming months.

Black Adam is set to premiere in theaters on July 29, 2022.
