The DCEU is seeing a lot more activity recently than it has in a long time. Of course, the year started out with Zack Snyder's Justice League––with Wonder Woman 1984 having premiered weeks before. Now, fans have James Gunn's The Suicide Squad to look forward to in just a few weeks' time.

Of course, that's not including all the projects that are currently filming. There's The Flash, which promises to deliver a multiverse story that includes the likes of a brand-new Supergirl, alongside multiple Batmen. There are also projects such as Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom also making their way through production.

But, one of the biggest projects is still looming over the horizon: Black Adam. Having started production back in April, the much-anticipated film focusing on the grim antihero from Khandaq has been a long time coming––in fact, it has been the passion project of star Dwayne Johnson.

Now, it seems that the film may be shaping up as, according to an Instagram post, filming for the project is nearly done.

BLACK ADAM NEARS COMPLETION

According to an Instagram post by Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson, filming for the upcoming DCEU installment is nearing its end. In fact, it's the last week.

The picture accompanying the post shows Johnson's jacked figure in Black Adam branded attire. Johnson also included a heartfelt message, telling his fans that  he "can't thank [you guys] enough for your support:"

"Back to work. This is our final week of production for the filming of BLACK ADAM⚡️

I can't thank you guys enough for your support. Grateful. Truly. Almost two years of hard core, intense training, diet, character prep and execution. You've been right there rocking with me all this time 🙏🏾👊🏾... And now it's my turn and I hope to deliver the definitive antihero you deserve 🤞🏾💪🏾... The hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is about not change."

BLACK ADAM IS ALMOST HERE

It seems like fans only just got the announcement of the start to Black Adam's filming—oh, how time flies. It must be quite a relief for Dwayne Johnson to be so close to finishing the project that he has been trying to get made since 2007.

Not too much is known about the film besides casting announcements. The Justice Society of America will be playing a key role in the movie, with Doctor Fate and Hawkman having been cast. The villain is also known to be the demonic Sabbac.

Of course, one of the biggest questions that pop up with this film is when will fans see Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam go up against Zachary Levi's Shazam. Of course, the two characters are tied together by the source of their powers, both being rooted with the old wizard, Shazam.

DC FanDome this October is bound to be the place where fans will get their first trailer for the film. It's a long wait, but what're another few months?

Black Adam will debut in theaters on July 29, 2022.
