Thor: Love and Thunder is just under three months away and has become a bit of a punch line as fans eagerly await the film's trailer. The Thor-centered sequel will be, yet again, directed by Taika Waititi after the financial and critical success of Thor: Ragnarok. The movie has received plenty of teases by way of marketing material and various leaks, but no official look at the Marvel Studios epic has been made public.
What is known so far is that Love and Thunder will feature Natalie Portman back in the MCU for the first time since 2013. Portman will reprise her role of Jane Foster while also taking up the Thor mantle herself as Mighty Thor.
Mighty Thor's inclusion would be enough to get audiences excited, but throw in Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and the return of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and it's easy to see what has the MCU faithful so enthusiastic about the upcoming film.
Despite the lack of a trailer for Love and Thunder, more merchandise continues to leak centered on the movie, and that is exactly the case with a spiral-bound journal.
Thor's Revengers 2.0
A journal that appeared on the marketplace website Mercari seemingly leaked the main team-up of heroes to be seen in Thor: Love and Thunder.
The spiral-bound notebook sports a comic book-style look, with the movie's main characters splayed across the cover. Thor, Mighty Thor, Korg, Valkyrie, and Thor's two goats, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr.
This is not the first time this particular group of characters has been seen together in Love and Thunder merchandise, likely confirming that they are the main team that audiences will follow when the film hits theater screens this summer.
XOXO, God of Thunder
As mentioned above, this is not the first time this particular team of heroes has been seen together on leaked Love and Thunder merchandise, so this likely means that they will be the main focus of the film.
While for some that will be disappointing, as many had hoped the likes of the Guardians of the Galaxy would play a major part in the project. But this, along with particularly short shooting stints, likely confirms that they will only be seen briefly on screen in the MCU epic. This is a Thor movie after all, so it makes sense that the team is centered on these particular Thor characters.
One interesting note that will surely turn some heads is the inclusion of Korg but not his scissor-like friend Miek. Miek hasn't been seen since Avengers: Endgame, so it will be interesting to see what has become of the insectoid warrior.
Another intriguing inclusion here is the focus on Thor's pair of goats. In Norse mythology, the God of Thunder uses these two as a means of travel, as they lead his chariot throughout the many realms. Could they serve that same purpose in Love and Thunder? Perhaps Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr will take up the role of gatekeeper to the Bifrost after the death of Heimdall in Infinity War.
For now, though, these all remain questions. And, hopefully, fans will get some answers when Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8.
