The Marvel Cinematic Universe has something for all fans coming in the next couple of years, especially with the franchise fully embracing the cosmic storyline going forward. One of those cosmic movies is 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder, which will bring the first time any MCU hero has starred in four solo films.

Leading actor Chris Hemsworth is back for his ninth outing as the God of Thunder with an all-star cast of Guardians and As-guardians by his side.

While no specific plot details for this film have been revealed, the story will bring the introduction of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor. Also returning to this adventure are Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif from 2013's Thor: The Dark World along with director Taika Waititi rocking and rolling for his third appearance as Korg.

In that light, the latest social media round for this movie features Waititi alongside his beefed-up Australian partner.

THOR: LOVE AND POSTER

Thor: Love and Thunder star Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram to share an image of himself and director/Korg actor Taika Waititi from his trailer on set.

Waititi is in a blue jacket and sunglasses while Hemsworth rocks a tank-top and a bright pink hat adorned with the movie's title card atop his long-haired Thor wig.

Hemsworth joked about this picture being "the official Thor: Love and Thunder poster" with the following caption:

"They really squeezed the budget for the official Thor Love & Thunder poster but the message is clear, plenty of love and plenty of thunder. Album drops soon...again..."

HEMSWORTH SHOWING HIS FUNNY SIDE

Chris Hemsworth has showcased his sense of humor behind the scenes of MCU projects for the past decade, all while his character grows funnier in the movies themselves. This post comes as yet another example of his joking nature, seeing as it will be quite a while until anything close to an official poster for this movie arrives.

The leading actor's flowing locks are on full display once again after the late Stan Lee chopped it all off in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, although the image doesn't reveal anything in terms of plot details for the sequel. This will likely remain the case for most of the next few months, especially considering there is likely some time before shooting comes to an end in the land down under.

The actor/director duo continues to tease an exciting outing within the MCU for the franchise's 29th outing. With an epic battle set to take place against Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher, Marvel looks ready to take Thor's solo story to new levels of insanity in his first appearance since 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming in preparation for release on May 6, 2022.
