When Thor: Ragnarok was released, it completely changed the titular hero's franchise. Saying that Marvel Studios rebooted the character wouldn't be far off the mark; Taika Waititi’s vision led to a complete 180 for Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder. More people took notice of the character and invested in his journey. The film itself was also praised as one of the MCU’s best when released. So, it's no wonder that Marvel chose to bring Waititi back into the fold for Thor: Love and Thunder.

Ever since Avengers: Endgame concluded, fans have been dying to see Thor’s story continue. His future looked all the better thanks to him seemingly venturing off with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The group is confirmed to be a part of the film, but it isn't known how big a role they’ll play in the proceedings. Chances are their part in the plot is fairly small; in fact, it may only be a few short scenes.

What is known is that Natalie Portman will be returning as Jane Foster, who will be becoming her own God of Thunder this time around. Then there’s Christan Bale, who is playing the film’s villain, Gorr the God Butcher.

There’s also Tessa Thomson’s Valkyrie, whose new look in the upcoming movie made its way online recently.

The real question is: what will Thor look like this time around? There was a poster for Love and Thunder making the rounds that showed a glimpse of Hemsworth's new duds, but not a full look.

Now a new promotional image has leaked that shows off Chris Hemsworth's new outfit in its entirety, which reveals one of the biggest changes to the character yet.

Some new promotional images from Thor: Love and Thunder have made their way online, and among them is an image that showcases Chris Hemsworth’s new crisp attire.

The Asgardian hero, who's got his Stormbreaker in grip, has chosen to parade around in an entirely new blue and yellow color scheme, a saturation boost compared to past costumes sported in previous Thor installments.

Thor's Fashion Change

Most will likely agree that Chris Hemsworth’s costume is incredible. It's script and vibrant, giving Thor a powerful regal look.

The color scheme is what sticks out the most. The blue and gold are completely new for Thor and almost makes him feel like an entirely different person. It's similar to Richard Madden’s Ikaris; maybe the two exchanged fashion tips.

Then again, perhaps he took some inspiration from the Guardians of the Galaxy to spruce up his wardrobe.

This promotional art also seems to be a continued confirmation that Fat Thor is in the rearview mirror. The God of Lightning is back in action and looking more powerful than ever before - which is good, because Christan Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher seems like no joke.

Thor: Love and Thunder releases in theaters worldwide on July 8, 2022.
