The entertainment industry took a hit when the global pandemic began in 2020, forcing in-person conventions such as San Diego Comic-Con to be canceled. As a result, studios were forced to find an alternate avenue to showcase their upcoming projects

Warner Bros. and DC led the charge by showcasing a new virtual convention in the form of DC FanDome. The virtual event featured the first official looks at projects like The Suicide Squad and The Batman while also giving fans an update about the studio's other branches like video games and the small screen.

Although the event experienced several technical issues, DC FanDome 2020 proved to be a success after garnering 22 million views online and becoming the main topic of discussion on social media.

Given the impressive performance of DC FanDome 2020, it didn't take long for Warner Bros. to greenlight a second edition of the virtual convention. Marketing for the 2021 installment of the virtual convention has been ramping up in the past weeks, with DC announcing what fans can expect this time around

Now, a brand-new announcement has emerged, promising a massive ensemble of stars for the virtual event.

Robert Pattinson & Jason Momoa Headline DC FanDome

After this announcement, it's safe to say that DC FanDome 2021 will be jam-packed with guest stars.

In the 2020 edition, Robert Pattinson only showed up briefly to introduce The Batman panel which was later led by the film's director, Matt Reeves. While the filmmaker will still be around in this year's installment, it's reasonable to assume that Pattinson will be extremely involved this time around, and it will be interesting to find out what information he will share with fans during the panel.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been deep in production, but it seems that Jason Momoa will offer a sneak peek at what's going on behind the scenes. There's a good chance that the sequel's narrative will be explored during its panel, offering more insight on what threats Arthur Curry will deal with in the film.

Meanwhile, Ezra Miller's involvement could hint that the multiversal plan in The Flash will be further fleshed out. John Cena and James Gunn's Peacemaker will likely debut its first official trailer to boost anticipation for its January release as well.

The small screen branch is also primed to take the spotlight as Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) and Grant Gustin (The Flash) will be present to provide tidbits about their respective shows. Given that Supergirl is already in its final season, it will be interesting to find out if the Girl of Steel will still be around for crossovers even after its seven-season run on The CW.

At this stage, DC FanDome 2021 will aim to be a bigger event than its predecessor, and so far, the guest list has proven that it has a good chance of achieving that feat.

DC FanDome will stream for free on dcfandome.com on October 16, 2021, starting at 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET.
