Thor: Love and Thunder is set to feature the heroic transition of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster into Mighty Thor, but details on how she will ultimately transform are still being kept under wraps. Despite that, marketing for the Chris Hemsworth-led sequel has placed Foster at the forefront, with the character likely upstaging the titular Asgardian in the upcoming project.

After teasing the character's design through official merchandise and leaked promotional art, Love and Thunder's trailer offered the first full look at Foster as Mighty Thor. Portman's Marvel hero is sporting a comic-accurate design straight from Jason Aaron's comic book run on The Mighty Thor from 2014.

Now, as the film's release is slowly inching closer, another look at the new MCU hero has been unveiled.

Mighty Thor Takes The Spotlight

Natalie Portman shared another version of Thor: Love and Thunder's official poster, replacing Chris Hemsworth's titular Asgardian with Jane Foster's Mighty Thor.

Originally, the poster included a line saying, "the one and only." However, Portman changed it to "the one is not only," essentially mocking the original Thor.

The Marvel actress also shared the following caption on Instagram:

And you thought you were the one and only... @chrishemsworth 🙃

Comparing the new Jane Foster-focused poster to the original highlights a few of the key differences between the two, including the character change, tagline swap, and the slightly altered cloud formations in the background:

Mighty Thor's Heroic Journey in Love and Thunder

Portman's hilarious mockery of Marvel's claim that there is a "one and only" MCU hero of the same name could hint that this will be explored in the film, likely leading to fun banter between Mighty Thor and Chris Hemsworth's founding Avenger.

Mighty Thor will (finally) take center stage in Love and Thunder, but it is unknown if this will be a one-time affair or if her adventures will continue after the sequel. Based on recent evidence, signs indicate that Mighty Thor is here to stay in the MCU, but it also raises the question of whether the original Thor's status as an Avenger will carry on.

Still, the MCU is filled with many heroes, and there could be room for another Thor to protect Earth. It's possible that Mighty Thor will be assigned to Earth while Thor reunites with the Guardians of the Galaxy in the cosmos or he could choose to retire.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to premiere in theaters on July 8.
