Thor: Love and Thunder will feature the return of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, but she will come back in a different way. During 2019's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios confirmed that the award-winning actress will reprise her role as Jane Foster in the upcoming sequel. Not only that, but the studio also revealed that she will wield Mjolnir in the movie, thus cementing her heroic transformation into Mighty Thor.

Despite that, not much is known about Foster's transition into a superhero. While marketing has yet to start for Love and Thunder, there have been several pieces of promotional images that highlight the MCU hero's comic-accurate costume

In addition, set photos might have already teased an interesting connection between Foster and Mjolnir, leaving fans to speculate on how the once broken weapon will be brought back.

Now, as the film's press tour officially begins, a new wave of merchandise has been unveiled.

A Thunderous Team-Up in Thor 4

It's all but confirmed that Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster will join forces at some point in Love and Thunder, and this latest promotional image appears to tease a visually stunning team-up.

The combined might of Stormbreaker and Mjolnir was already highlighted during Avengers: Endgame's final battle when Captain America and Thor worked together to defeat Thanos' minions. However, that was only for a brief moment.

Love and Thunder seems poised to showcase an incredible sequence involving the two Thors, with each of them being given a chance to shine in action sequences. Given that the pair also has a heartbreaking shared history, the team-up also adds emotional weight.

In the comics, Foster's Mighty Thor transformation means that she gained all of Thor's abilities, such as superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and durability. However, Foster's key difference is the ability to change Mjolnir's trajectory and velocity in mid-throw and spin it around her enemies to trap them.

It remains to be seen if this ability will be portrayed in the upcoming film, but it's reasonable to assume that Foster will utilize a special ability to stand out.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to premiere in theaters on July 8.
