Zack Snyder's Justice League is approaching the final few weeks of its promotional tour before it makes its grand debut on HBO Max on March 18, 2021. After almost a year's worth of teases and discussions centered around how this movie will be vastly different from the 2017 theatrical cut, the time is drawing closer for its arrival with a great deal of hype built up for it.
Director Zack Snyder has been very open teasing what's coming in this new version of Justice League, and the new trailer that came over Valentine's Day weekend is bringing even more questions with so much new footage to dissect.
Much of the chatter is centered around the first look at Jared Leto's Joker, although there is a plethora of other information to analyze before the Snyder Cut debuts next month.
One of the biggest aspects of the film that Snyder has discussed is its score, which is in the news again thanks to an update.
THE FIRST PIECE OF THE SNYDER CUT SCORE DEBUTS
Scoreworld released the first full piece of the musical score from the Snyder Cut of Justice League, composed by Junkie XL. The 6-minute, 49-second piece is entitled "The Crew at Warpower" and can be heard in the video below:
WHERE WILL THIS MUSIC PLAY INTO THE SNYDER CUT?
Junkie XL has a history with composing superhero movie scores, previously working on Marvel movies like 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 2016's Deadpool. He also teamed up with Snyder in the DC Extended Universe when he penned the score for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, and they've clearly developed a close bond with his return for the Snyder Cut.
It's hard to tell when exactly in the movie this piece of music will come, especially considering that the title is so vague. The intensity in the music is very much Junkie XL's style and is quite reminiscent of his work in Batman V Superman, so it will definitely be something to listen for along with the rest of his work in the Snyder Cut.
The combination of electronic music and classic orchestral themes has become a calling card for Junkie XL, and he is bringing that unique sound to help boost Zack Snyder's vision. With the Snyder Cut using an expectedly dark tone for its story, the score should match that dark feel at every turn.
Zack Snyder's Justice League will release on HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
