Filming and production are kicking into high gear for the DC Extended Universe on multiple projects, which will all help expand on the narrative for the oft-maligned interconnected movie series. Included in this bunch is possibly the film with the most trouble getting off the ground: Ezra Miller's The Flash.
Originally intended to release in theaters nearly three years ago, the Scarlet Speedster's first DCEU solo outing finally has cameras rolling in preparation for its theatrical debut in about 18 months. Miller will star in possibly the franchise's riskiest endeavor to date, which will fully dive into the DC multiverse utilizing both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck co-starring as Batman.
In the latest social media post from this movie, another star shared her own excitement for the project...
KIERSEY CLEMONS CONFIRMS FLASH CASTING
Iris West actress Kiersey Clemons took to Instagram to share an image from her early days shooting The Flash within the DCEU.
No caption was included with the post, just a picture of a message from director Andy Muschietti saying "Dear Kiersey, welcome to..." before the image cuts off.

THE SPEEDSTER'S FILM IS UNDERWAY
While there are still no details on what this movie's plot will consist of, excitement is building amongst the fan base that the film is finally shooting. Recent set photos revealed the use of Michael Keaton's Wayne Manor before Clemons teased her own comeback as Iris West, who will finally appear in the canon movies.
West played a small role in Zack Snyder's Justice League, although her story was completely removed from the original cut in 2017. As Barry Allen's longtime love interest through multiple iterations of the hero's story, it seems only right that she will find her place alongside him in the cast of his first blockbuster solo film.
It's unclear how big her role will be with Allen clearly set to be traveling through the multiverse for a decent portion of the run time, but she will certainly help keep him grounded wherever she can. The hope is that more details will come on her role as more footage is shot, and it will be fantastic seeing her explore the role of Iris West next year.
The Flash is currently filming and will release in theaters on November 4, 2022.
