The cast for The Flash is beginning to fill up thanks to Ezra Millar returning as Barry Allen, Sasha Calle being introduced as the new Supergirl, Michael Keaton donning the Batman cape once again, and two Kryptonian villains returning from Man of Steel. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman was even seen teased in set photos on a bus on the set of The Flash.
However, it seems likely that Wonder Woman will be more than a cheeky Easter egg in The Flash, as it was reported last year that Diana would have a "small supporting role" in the film. New photos from Gal Gadot herself seem to all but confirm her appearance in The Flash due to one minor detail.
Wonder Woman Returning in The Flash
Gal Gadot recently posted a video for New Year's Eve on Instagram commemorating everything she's done this year in her life and acting. In this video, many fans noticed that in the month of August, she's in a make-up chair dressed as Wonder Woman, indicating that she played the character in either The Flash or Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
It's not readily apparent, but she's wearing Diana's iconic tiara in the August photo. However, one Twitter user, @WildeePatrol, noticed that the lanyard one crewmember was wearing in a picture in July was the same lanyard used on the set of The Flash.
These photos indicate that Gadot will be in civilian clothing as Wonder Woman for at least one scene in The Flash.
Will Diana Be In the Shazam! Sequel Too?
The same outlet that reported Wonder Woman's inclusion in The Flash also said she would have a cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. It's been shown in the past that Gal Gadot did film something at the end of August at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Watford, England, which could have been for the Shazam! sequel.
This material being a cameo would make a lot more sense; if this was filming for the Shazam! sequel, it would mean Gadot never filmed any scenes with the rest of the cast, as they were in the United States at the time. So, either Wonder Woman's role in The Flash is more significant than a "small supporting role," or she will indeed only have a cameo in the heavily Greek-themed outing for Billy Batson.
The latter seems to be the most likely, but fans will find out for sure when they see The Flash and Shazam! Fury of the Gods in theaters on November 4, 2022, and June 2, 2023, respectively.
