MCU fans are still in the process of taking in every major reveal from the season finale of WandaVision . After Wanda Maximoff completed her transformation into the Scarlet Witch, giving up her family and seclusion in the process, Marvel Studios is quickly proving that this new venture into storytelling on Disney+ will be something special.

Phase 4 will continue with the franchise's second Disney+ entry in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , a far more grounded story continuing the Captain America legacy from the end of the Infinity Saga. Sam Wilson will take on the challenge of embodying the role of Captain America in a post-Blip world while Bucky Barnes finds himself in his right mind for the first time in decades in that same wild world.

With the show premiering in just under two weeks, Marvel Studios is ramping up the promotional tour for Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's next MCU adventure.

The latest round of promo material even included an expectedly exciting reference to one of Phase 4's biggest players.

YET ANOTHER REFERENCE TO THE SORCERER SUPREME

A recent TV spot for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , via Twitter user @amogatto_ , brought 27 seconds of new action and dialogue from the MCU's second Disney+ series. Included in the chat between Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes was a direct reference to Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange.

The full conversation reads as follows:

Sam Wilson: "These guys use brute force. They’re strong. Too strong. And they might be a part of the Big 3."

Bucky Barnes: “What Big 3?”

Wilson: “Androids, aliens, and wizards.”

Barnes: “That’s not a thing.”

Wilson: “That’s definitely a thing!”

Barnes: “No, it’s not! There are no wizards!”

Wilson: “Doctor Strange.”

Barnes: “Is a sorcerer.”

Wilson: “A sorcerer is a wizard without a hat!”

SORCERER OR WIZARD?

Many fans were hoping that Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme would make an on-screen appearance with the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision before his 2022 solo sequel. While this didn't come to fruition, he was seemingly mentioned as Agatha Harkness read the Darkhold aloud, and Wanda was seen taking his style of magic to crazy new levels in the post-credits scene from "Episode 9."

It's quite unlikely that Strange would appear in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , but the namedrop continues to solidify his importance in Phase 4 of the MCU. Both Sam and Bucky fought alongside Strange in Avengers: Endgame . With Strange using his sling ring portals to get heroes from all over the galaxy to the final battle , his impact was felt across the battlefield.

This trailer simply reinforces that these Disney+ series are all tightly interwoven with the future movies releasing within the MCU. It's unclear where Sam and Bucky's journey will take them after their debut Disney+ outing, but they will continue as important pieces in the MCU for years to come.

Sam and Bucky's journey will continue when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
