Marvel Studios is currently preparing to start off its 2022 with Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight on Disney+. Featuring the elusive Steven Grant alongside a mysterious villain in Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow, this series will look to bring a new dynamic to the MCU’s growing story. With ancient Egyptian mythology and difficult mental issues, Moon Knight may be one of the most unique MCU projects to date.
The show’s promotional tour kicked off in mid-January as fans got the first look at Isaac’s Steven Grant, even getting the first full look at the hero’s incredible costume in the process. Living without knowledge of his core Marc Spector personality and just starting to learn about the Egyptian history coming into play in the story, that first footage opened the door to a wild new dimension of the MCU.
Marvel Studios already kicked off Super Bowl Sunday with a thrilling trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but Moon Knight was also teased to be part of the action in its own spot. Now, that's come to fruition as fans get new footage from Oscar Isaac's first outing with Marvel Studios.
Moon Knight Shines at Super Bowl LVI
During the first quarter of Super Bowl LVI, Marvel Studios released a 30-second spot for the upcoming Moon Knight series on Disney+.
The full spot can be seen below:
Marvel also released a new poster for the series along with the Super Bowl spot. Half of the image shows off Isaac's bare face while the other half shows part of his Moon Knight costume.
Chaos Coming to Life in Moon Knight
In a spot filled largely with new footage, Marvel Studios found a way to add a new level of intrigue and excitement to this upcoming series.
Moon Knight is seemingly taking the full supernatural route in various ways with the character's MCU introduction, as seen by the hero's costume sneaking up on Isaac from behind right from the start. This comes before a couple of shots showing Steven Grant looking into a mirror to see his reflection doing something different than him, which only makes the story that much more unpredictable.
Ethan Hawke makes even more of an impact this time around too, which goes far beyond the tattoo of scales on his arm that ends up moving on his skin. He's later seen wielding some kind of mystical staff that emits purple energy from the top, teasing just how big of an adversary he'll be for the titular hero.
One of the more exciting visuals from the action came with multiple uses of moon shapes from Isaac's leading hero. This could be seen in the way he worked his cape upon jumping in the air and from the moon-shaped weapon that comes back into his hand from the moon above him, showing just how heavily Marvel is leaning into this imagery.
With only half a minute of new action, the MCU made it clear that fans are in for something that will change the game with the franchise's supernatural storyline.
Moon Knight will debut on Disney+ on March 30, 2022.
