The MCU is looking to expand mightily on the cosmic side of its story with entries like 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which will mark the first time any hero has had a fourth solo movie in the franchise. While its release was delayed a couple of months due to Marvel Studios’ recent shift, the summer blockbuster will still be a massive event for fans as the God of Thunder makes his long-awaited return.
Filming for this movie progressed through the better part of 2021 with Thor set to appear alongside Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, and even the Guardians of the Galaxy. While the story is still a mystery, fans have had exciting looks at some on-set action, which includes everything from an extra bulked-up Hemsworth to a brand-new play featuring Melissa McCarthy as Hela.
With the film not set to release in theaters for more than eight months, there is still plenty of work to do both on-set and in the editing room. Excitingly, a fan has capturedglimpses of what is currently being shot in the United States.
More Love and More Thunder For Thor
Tik Tok user @dustinandrewmarki shared a video of Chris Hemsworth in a Los Angeles, California apartment preparing for additional photography for Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder. The video, also shared by Twitter user @lovethundernews, showed Hemsworth in costume as Thor along with a set chair featuring the movie's title card on the back.

Marki also took to his Twitter account, @dustmar23, to share another video of the action from the same building, saying that the footage was for "a Marvel movie:"

Another still image showed Hemsworth walking around on the set, donning the long blonde hair he's sported for all of his MCU appearances to date.

Thor Returns to Earth in Intergalactic Sequel?
While it's certainly exciting to see the God of Thunder back in action for more footage in his sequel, it's difficult to tell what exactly this footage will entail.
One option could be a potential flashback scene to events from the Infinity Saga, especially with his hair styled longer the way it was in movies like Thor: Ragnarok, at least at the start. With Jane Foster coming back into play, the footage could be something expanding on their time apart from each other since 2013's Thor: The Dark World, helping fans catch up with her individual story.
Even with theories like this, it will be interesting to find out exactly what Thor is doing in this environment as he takes on his next major adventure.
Fans last saw the Asgardian teaming up with the Guardians in the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, although their destination was largely a mystery as Peter Quill began his search for the 2014 Variant of Gamora. With a universe's worth of doors in front of Thor and his crew, there are endless possibilities for what this new footage could entail.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently shooting and will release in theaters on July 8, 2022.
