Anticipation is at an all-time high for Spider-Man: No Way Home, despite there still being no trailer released for the film. Fans all over can't wait to see what Tom Holland's MCU threequel will involve.
Some pretty big promotional art for No Way Home recently leaked, raising more questions than answers regarding what the movie will entail.
Now, the world is finally getting its first confirmed look at what to expect from the winter blockbuster.
SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME FUNKO POPS! REVEALED
Marvel revealed a new Funko Pop! line for Spider-Man: No Way Home. The surprise announcement gives fans the best look yet at several Spider-Man styles that will be shown off in the film, as well as first looks at MJ, Ned, and Doctor Strange. All of the new figures can be pre-ordered online here.
First, there's the familiar Upgraded Suit that Peter Parker built for the climax of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Showing off his web-gliders, it looks like Spidey will have plenty more hang time in his third MCU installment. This Upgraded Suit Pop! figure is now available for pre-order here.
Then, there's the first new look for Spider-Man, dubbed the Integrated Suit. It seems to be a mix of Peter's Upgraded Suit and Iron Spider armor with a dash of the Sorcerer Supreme's magic. This figure alone opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for No Way Home. This Integrated Suit Pop! is now available for pre-order here.
Another new suit for Spider-Man is simply being called the Gold Suit. No details have been released regarding why exactly Peter Parker will don this look or what the significance of the black-and-gold will be to No Way Home. This Spider-Man Black & Gold Suit Pop! figure is now available for pre-order here.
Based on the box art that was shown, this Gold Suit looks like it will be a massive ten-inch Funko Pop! exclusive to Target in the U.S.
Also shown is a new Pop! for Doctor Strange who will be making his next MCU appearance in No Way Home after not being seen since Avengers: Endgame's final moments.
Oddly, the Sorcerer Supreme looks as though he may have been caught off guard in this No Way Home moment, as other than his Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto, Doctor Strange seems to have been innocently shoveling snow on the streets of New York City. This Doctor Strange Pop! figure is now available for pre-order here.
Zendaya's MJ also gets her second Funko feature. This time, though, there isn't much to go on as she's shown in a standard pose. However, she is still wearing the broken Black Dahlia necklace that Peter Parker gave to her at the end of Far From Home. This MJ Pop! figure is now available for pre-order here.
Finally, Ned Leeds gets his first Funko after appearing in four separate MCU flicks. Donning his letterman jacket, Spidey's "Guy in the Chair" is ready for action. This Ned Pop! figure is now available for pre-order here.
SPIDER-MAN: MASTER OF THE MYSTIC ARTS?
This reveal provides several developments for what fans can expect from Spider-Man: No Way Home, ranging from what Peter Parker could need these new looks for to how Doctor Strange gets pulled into the mix.
Perhaps the most intriguing detail revealed is Spider-Man's Integrated Suit being capable of practicing magic. This seems reminiscent of an unused idea for Avengers: Infinity War in which Doctor Strange donned the Iron Man armor. However, it's far less likely that this is the Sorcerer Supreme behind the webbed mask, so does that mean Peter Parker is the next Master of the Mystic Arts?
There is the possibility that these variations of the Spider-Man suit are actually the result of the MCU's venture into the multiverse — a story that is currently unraveling in Disney+'s Loki. It would be neat if Peter ran into a few different Spider-Men that all have their own abilities and power sets, just as Loki's Mobius explained to be possible.
As for Doctor Strange's involvement in the third MCU Spider-Man flick, it looks like he was literally just shoveling snow on the streets of New York before summoning his cloak to ready himself for some potential trouble. Perhaps Peter Parker was seeking solace in New York and let himself into the Sanctum Sanctorum while Strange was away, prompting the Sorcerer Supreme to rush back to investigate the commotion. That would certainly give some context to the only official images released for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As for Ned and MJ, it's further reinforced that they will both serve important supporting roles as they're both included in the film's promotional merchandise. And, although MJ's Funko Pop! may not be wielding a mace like she did in Far From Home, she and Ned will surely be key assets for Spider-Man as two of his only confidants after Peter Parker was framed for the murder of Mysterio.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17, 2021.
