The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding with new characters and storylines as the franchise enters Phase 4, and one of the heroes that will be introduced in his own Disney+ series is Moon Knight.
The MCU hero will be played by Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, X-Men: Apocalypse), and the project will be directed by a variety of filmmakers which includes indie directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as well as Mohamed Diab.
Plot details of Moon Knight are still being kept under wraps, leaving fans to speculate about the series' overall tone and narrative. Despite that, Isaac has been at the forefront when it comes to sharing interesting tidbits about the Disney+ show, with him teasing that it will be "groundbreaking" and describing the project as the "best risk" he's ever taken.
Meanwhile, another character that will take center stage in the MCU's next chapter is Mahershala Ali's Blade. Despite initially announcing the actor's involvement as Marvel's Daywalker during San Diego Comic-Con 2019, no other details about the character and his movie have been revealed.
Now, new info has emerged about the vampire hero.
Blade Rumored to Appear in Moon Knight
The moderator team on r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers shared in a post that Mahershala Ali would appear as Blade in Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight Disney+ series.
Interestingly, in a previous rumor from November 2019, movie insider Daniel Richtman unveiled that Moon Knight "may" connect to Blade, with the MCU movie potentially featuring the two characters side by side.
Blade's Presence in Moon Knight Makes Sense
It is unknown if this rumor is true, but many would agree that a Moon Knight and Blade crossover makes sense due to the pair's connection in the pages of Marvel Comics.
For starters, both characters have supernatural roots, and they each have their own experiences when dealing with monstrous creatures throughout the Marvel universe. The mystical pair also became members of the Midnight Sons at one point, a team of supernatural heroes and Earth's first defense against occult threats.
It remains to be seen how Blade will appear in Moon Knight, but Marc Spector may end up dealing with a vampire in the show's narrative. There's a strong chance this will happen, especially considering the character's history with dealing with monstrous creatures.
Spector's encounter with a vampire or even hordes of them could lead him on the path toward Blade's radar, thus ending up with the pair's eventual meeting. It is also possible that Blade will appear in Moon Knight's post-credits scene to potentially serve as the character's launchpad in the MCU.
The pair's potential live-action team-up could also serve as a tease of the MCU's version of the Midnight Sons.
Moon Knight is rumored to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022, while Blade has no official release date yet.
