Marvel Studios kicked off 2021 with the Disney+ series WandaVision, which showed Elizabeth Olsen taking Wanda Maximoff on her journey to become the Scarlet Witch after losing Vision in Avengers: Infinity War. Next year, Olsen will kick off the MCU's theatrical run with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as she combines her magic with that of the Sorcerer Supreme.
Details for the Doctor Strange sequel's plot have been kept under wraps since principal photography ended, although the team is currently in the middle of intense reshoots. It will be particularly exciting to find out more about what Olsen is up to following her award-winning efforts on Disney+.
WandaVision finished off with a bang as Olsen found herself in a new Scarlet Witch costume during the final battle with Agatha Harkness, sending fans worldwide into a frenzy.
Now, following a recent toy leak related to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans have their first official look at Wanda in her next adventure.
Elizabeth Olsen's Doctor Strange 2 Look Unveiled
The LEGO Building Instructions app recently shared information about a set teasing the appearance of Garantos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. On that box were images of the film's main characters, which included a clear shot of Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff looking somewhat villainous.
Alongside Benedict Wong's Wong and Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez, Olsen's Scarlet Witch stands ready for battle with magic coming out of her hands as she wears her full costume. The outfit looks identical to the one she wore in Episode 9 of WandaVision down to the tiara and her hair, which can be seen below courtesy of Twitter user @DrStrangeUpdate:
Olson Ready for Epic Return in Doctor Strange 2
By the second post-credits scene in Episode 9 of WandaVision, Olsen's Scarlet Witch was more powerful than ever before. She showed the ability to go about her normal life in her cabin using her physical body while her astral form read through the Darkhold to start finding out the true limits of her powers, if there are any limits at all.
The astral form used the new costume that manifested in Wanda's fight against Agatha in Westview, which has already become one of the most popular and widely-discussed costumes in the MCU. Finally giving Olsen's hero a signature look to use for future outings, fans are already looking forward to how the hero will look fighting alongside Doctor Strange in next year's sequel.
The great part about this image is that the outfit doesn't appear to have gone through any changes since WandaVision, at least, not anything immediately noticeable. Considering the MCU's tendency to add or subtract certain things from costumes on a movie-to-movie basis, it seems that the WandaVision suit will get its due shine upon its return.
Promotional material for Doctor Strange 2 should start kicking further into gear once Spider-Man: No Way Home begins its theatrical run. That will certainly mean more looks at Olsen both in and out of her superhero digs and with plenty of magical mayhem to boot.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will debut in theaters on May 6, 2022.
