Thanks to Marvel Studios' Loki on Disney+, MCU fans are now all in on the concept of Variants as the franchise brought multiple versions of the iconic MCU character into the fray. "Episode 5" specifically took this concept to a whole new level for Tom Hiddleston's Disney+ show as he spent the entire runtime next to Boastful Loki, Kid, Loki, Classic Loki, and even Alligator Loki.
On top of their mind-blowing in-universe introductions, these Loki Variants also make great inspiration for new merchandise, from Funko Pops! to new clothing items and everything in between. From Hiddleston's take on Loki from The Avengers being immortalized to a fan-favorite Pop! for Miss Minutes, the mech game is as strong as ever with so many new MCU additions in Loki.
For the ultra-hardcore fans with a little more disposable income, there are also incredibly hyper-realistic figurines available to collect, like the ones seen for Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Now, Loki gets its own epic character figure centered around two widely-popular Variants that came in through The Void.
Classic Loki Immortalized in Collectible Figure
Hot Toys shared images of a new hyper-realistic collectible figurine depicting Richard E. Grant's Classic Loki from Marvel Studios' Loki on Facebook.
Grant's face and body are recreated perfectly in this collectible as he stands strong with his hands glowing. His grin comes through on his face as the figure looks to cast one of his illusions in front of him.
The figure is changeable to depict Grant's different expressions, including a head that shows a more serious look on his face. Classic Loki can also change his pose to holding the duffel bag he carried on his journey through The Void.
Looking closely, Grant's entire face is replicated in an insanely detailed hand-crafted mold of his features. The time and energy that went into this figurine cannot be understated as the 1/6th scale model brings his character to life for collectors.
Also included in this set is a 1/6th scale Alligator Loki, complete with the horned crown on his scaly head. The tiny model comes with two versions of the gator's noggin - one with the mouth open and one with the mouth closed.
The full Classic Loki set is quite extensive with seven different switchable hands, multiple crowns, and a detailed display case. Collectors also get their hands on a small jar with Throg, the frog version of Thor that made a short cameo in "Episode 5" as he jumped for his tiny Mjolnir.
The images also came with a detailed description of the figurine, which kicks off with the character's classic catchphrase "glorious purpose:"
"'Glorious purpose!' – Classic Loki
Standing proudly, Classic Loki summons great levels of magic to cast a massive, miles-long realistic project of Asgard that the monstrous Alioth attempts to feed on. Furious at the lack of nourishment, Alioth advances towards Classic Loki, who rises to his feet, and in one final display for its attention, the elder trickster shouts “Glorious Purpose!” as Alioth devours him leaving only his golden horns behind."
The description confirms the details for Grant's costume and appearance, listing off all the extra items that come alongside his figurine as well:
"Inspired by Marvel Studios’ Loki series, Hot Toys is thrilled to introduce the highly anticipated 1/6th scale Classic Loki collectible figure from the Loki collection series.
Expertly crafted based on the appearance of Richard E. Grant as Classic Loki from Loki, the figure features a newly developed head sculpt with horned helmet, interchangeable face sculpts highlighting grinning and serious expressions, iconic comic inspired costume with screen accuracy and weathering effects applied, an array of highly-detailed accessories including Frog Thor in bottle, battle damaged helmet, travel bag, Alligator Loki in one-sixth scale, green magic effect accessories, a character backdrop and a themed figure stand."
Collectors Clamoring for Classic Loki
Hot Toys is known for making impressively detailed collectible items for various pop culture franchises, including many characters from the MCU. From What If...?'s Infinity Ultron to multiple new live-action cosmic entries, the company consistently puts out top-notch collectible work, as was the case with Classic Loki.
On top of the core Classic Loki figure, this set is particularly exciting due to the fact that two widely popular animal Variants come with it in Alligator Loki and the short-lived Throg. While some of the plans for these characters were left in the editing room, these creatures' time on screen was still quite memorable alongside their human counterparts.
Now that Classic Loki has his own figurine, it opens the door for other Variants to earn the same treatment, especially as Loki inches closer to starting production for Season 2. Important supporting characters like Mobius and Sylvie would fit in perfectly alongside other Gods and Goddesses of Mischief, and fans can't forget about Hiddleston's OG anti-hero either.
All six episodes of Loki are available to stream on Disney+.
