The Avengers may have hit theaters a decade ago in 2012, but its impact is still affecting the MCU to this day. The film proved that comic book movies could work with not only one or two superheroes in the spotlight but six. While many fans highly regarded it as one of the major milestones in the superhero world, its success also translated to the box office, where it was the first Marvel movie to cross the $1.5 billion mark during its run in theaters.
All six members of the original Avengers team went on to have a decorated MCU career. Each character has gone on to play a major role in the entirety of the Infinity Saga, with characters like Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow even sacrificing themselves for the greater good.
Another character from The Avengers that kept making his presence felt throughout different points in the MCU was the movie's villain, Loki. The God of Mischief, portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, has had many shining moments in several different projects over the last decade, some as an antagonist and others as a hero. In 2021, he received his own Disney+ series, Loki, which has been renewed for a second season sometime in the near future.
Toys and collectibles are a major part of the Marvel brand, and while they are often released right after a specific project ends, sometimes companies like Funko and Hasbro like to travel to the past and release new figures from older films.
Glow-in-the-Dark Loki Funko Pop!
This new Loki figure showcases him in his iconic green and gold armor along with the horned helmet. He is also holding the scepter that he used in the film to take control over people's minds.
The weapon's power comes from the blue Mind Stone that sits in the middle of its bladed end. The stone in this Funko Pop! will be glowing blue, just as it does in the movie when it is used.
The figure will be a limited edition Entertainment Earth exclusive, and its official title is "Loki with Scepter."
A Fine Addition to The Avengers Collection
Many different Funko Pop! variations of Loki have been released over the years. However, none have showcased his helmet and scepter from The Avengers before. The biggest collection of Loki Funkos came from his self-titled Disney+ series. From that show, there are figures of Classic Loki, Kid Loki, President Loki, and many more.
Tom Hiddleston's character has only grown in popularity over the years, and with him being the main villain in The Avengers, fans now have another figure to add to their collection from that film. The glow-in-the-dark aspect is something that Funko has started to implement into more of their products, giving some figures a different look from others.
While this is only the latest Funko Pop! to be unveiled, fans can expect more of them to be available soon, both from past MCU films and more recent ones. It is also safe to say that this isn't the last Loki variant that will hit the shelves, as he will more than likely get a new one once he makes his next appearance in the franchise.
The Avengers is now streaming on Disney+.
