Tom Hiddleston's Loki series has come to an end after six weeks of episodes. Not only did Season 1 wrap up, but the events of Episode 6 could have major ramifications on the future of the MCU.
The Marvel Cinematic multiverse is upon us after Jonathan Majors made his debut as He Who Remains aka a Variant of Kang the conqueror. When Sylvie decided to stab Kang in the heart near the end of the finale, the Sacred Timeline completely unraveled.
Upcoming films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are set to be directly affected by Sylvie's decision.
A closer look at Majors' debut and the episode that ended the Sacred Timeline has been officially released.
KANG THE CONQUEROR AND MORE IN LOKI FINALE
Three new stills and four new screencaps of Loki Episode 6 have been officially released by Disney. The images highlight Jonathan Majors' He Who Remains, Mobius, Hunter B-15, Loki, Sylvie, and Miss Minutes.
The first still shows Majors smiling at his desk as He Who Remains.
The next image is of Majors' introduction in Loki, seated in the elevator and playing with his apple.
Cool, calm, and collected. The Kang Variant can be seen smiling with his feet up in the image below.
"Hey, y'all." The image below shows the moment Miss Minutes appeared to make Sylvie and Loki an offer.
The next photo shows a more serious Kang featuring the circular window behind him.
Back at the TVA, Mobius and Hunter B-15 witnessed the countless branches that went past the red line.
The final scene in the season finale revealed that B-15 and Mobius don't know who Loki is or what he is talking about, as highlighted in the still below.
WILL WE SEE THIS KANG VARIANT AGAIN?
Despite Sylvie killing Kang, there are many more Variants of this time lord set to appear in the MCU. The Variant seen in Loki Episode 6 is one of many and maybe one of the friendlier versions of this character.
In a similar stomach-dropping moment when Peter Quill ruined the Avengers' plan in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, when Sylvie kills Kang and Loki is sent to another alternate reality, it becomes clear something terrible has happened.
Navigating the multiverse is going to be fascinating heading into No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. There are endless possibilities for storytelling across the multiverse, including retconning characters like Deadpool or Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man into the MCU canon.
How far Marvel Studios will take the MCU and for how long it'll be a part of the universe remains to be seen. However, after Loki, it has become blatantly clear that even more Variants will be appearing soon and that this may not be resolved until an Avengers 5 Secret Wars film.
Loki Season 1 is now streaming on Disney+.
