Marvel Studios is set to bring possibly its most expansive and powerful team of new heroes outside of the Avengers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the second film of Phase 4, The Eternals . The new blockbuster is set to debut the immortal race of aliens based on Earth, featuring nearly a dozen new characters with powers never before seen in the mega-franchise.

The film also brings one of the most star-studded casts in the MCU's history, which is an incredible feat considering the caliber of performers utilized in the Infinity Saga. One of the biggest stars of the movie's cast recently sat down to tease his own character, comparing him to another Marvel fan favorite and even leaving fans with more questions than answers from his quotes.

NEWS

In a recent interview with CineXpress in Puerto Rico via Twitter , Kumail Nanjiani went into some details on his experience working on The Eternals . The final part of the interview posed the question of who would win in a fight between Deadpool and his character from the movie, Kingo, to which Nanjiani gave this teasing response:

Kingo wins but I can't tell you exactly why yet.

WHAT THIS MEANS

This is an incredibly intriguing tease for Kumail Nanjiani's character as he compares the immortal Kingo to the near-unkillable Deadpool. In the comics, Kingo has a number of abilities including flight, energy projection and molecular manipulation, although he prefers to use his skills as a samurai warrior in battle.

While Deadpool absolutely nails the sword part of being a samurai, he also has the ability to grow back any part of his body that is chopped off in a fight (best shown hilariously by regrowing his hand in 2016's Deadpool and his entire lower half in 2018's Deadpool 2). He can clearly hold his own against anybody in the Marvel Universe, although questions now arise about how he would fare against Kingo and what the new Eternal could actually do to defeat him.

Nothing has been revealed about how the Eternals' powers will be portrayed in their upcoming movie compared to the comics. Kumail Nanjiani should be one of the most exciting parts of the film due to his star power and his unbelievable body transformation for the role, and it is clear how big of a Marvel fan he is and how much he wants to make the most of his time in the MCU.

The Eternals has completed initial photography and is currently in post-production remotely . The film is set for worldwide release on February 12, 2021.
