The Eternals has been in production since the summer of last year, and between then and now quite a few photos have been unofficially released from the movie’s set. In September, the first (blurry) look at Angelina Jolie in-character as Thena had been revealed in set photos. More set photos taken in November from a different set location showcased the first looks at Gemma Chan as Sersi and Brian Tyree Henry’s Phastos together alongside Jolie’s Thena. At the start of this year, fans received the much-anticipated first glimpse at Kit Harington in-character as Dane Whitman alongside Chan’s Sersi. Now, more new set photos have dropped which offer two additional first looks at the film’s main characters as well as an intriguing scene that points to a relationship between two other main characters.

NEWS

New photos have surfaced from an on-location London set for The Eternals. The photos show three of the film’s main cast members in-character: Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, young actress Lia McHugh as Sprite, and Gemma Chan as Sersi

Additional set photos from a nearby London location show a night shoot involving Chan’s Sersi and Harington’s Dane Whitman. The two characters can be seen having an intimate moment in one of the photos.

WHAT THIS MEANS

The first group of set photos show Nanjiani and McHugh each giving Chan a hug. This interaction could be for a scene in which Nanjiani’s Kingo and McHugh’s Sprite have to part ways from Chan’s Sersi. The reason why these characters would be parting ways remains to be seen, and it does raise the question of where the other Eternals members are during this emotional departure. These photos also indicate that Kingo and Sprite will be an on-screen duo throughout some of the movie.

The romantic interactions pictured between Chan and Harington in the second group of set photos align with rumors that Chan’s super-powered humanoid Sersi will fall in love with Harington’s mere mortal human Dane Whitman. This probable plotline in the film will work to bring a relatable human element to an epic story about god-like beings.
