Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is widely expected to have a plethora of cameos as Strange and his allies travel through different alternate realities. The titular sorcerer is set to team up with old and new heroes, such as his trusted ally Wong, Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff, and Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez. Aside from the four protagonists, the sequel's trailer is also filled with hints about new characters joining the adventure.

Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier has been confirmed to make his presence felt as part of the MCU's Illuminati, and his arrival also indicates that the other members of the powerful group will also appear. So far, a Captain Marvel Variant and an alternate version of Chiwetel Ejiofor's Baron Mordo are confirmed to be part of the team, and based on the footage, there is room for more characters.

Aside from the Illuminati, other Marvel heroes are rumored to be featured as well, such as Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man.

Now, new evidence may have given a strong hint that the first live-action web-slinger could end up being part of the sequel.

A Tease for Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man?

Tide officially released a brand-new tie-in promo for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, featuring a familiar Easter egg that connects to one of Marvel's legacy movies.

The one-minute promo starts off with Wong and Doctor Strange's Cloak of Levitation inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Wong then accidentally throws some of the tuna melt into the cloak, prompting the Sorcerer Supreme to go to the laundry to have it fixed:

However, the Cloak disagreed, which then led to it flying through the streets of New York, ultimately landing in a Joe's Pizza truck:

Joe's Pizza is the location of Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker workplace during the opening moments of Spider-Man 2. Could this serve as the first hint of Maguire's appearance in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel?

Another look of the Joe's Pizza logo can be seen on Peter's helmet during the Spider-Man sequel:

Will Tobey's Spider-Man Return in Doctor Strange 2?

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man made a memorable and satisfying return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it seems that the threequel will likely not be the final time that fans will see the web-slinger.

Interestingly, Joe's Pizza is located on Bleecker Street in Spider-Man 2, which is the same street where the Sanctum Sanctorum is in the MCU. Based on this promo, this tease could either serve as a fun Easter egg, or there could be something more about this reference.

If Maguire does appear as Spider-Man in the Doctor Strange sequel, it is unknown how he would fit in an already-massive narrative. There's a chance that Maguire's role could only be a brief cameo that would simply serve as fan service.

Given that the film is set to travel across different realities, it's possible that Strange and his allies could end up in the universe of Maguire's Spider-Man. Ending up in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man universe offers many story opportunities, especially considering the fact that Maguire's Peter already met Strange during No Way Home

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere in theaters on May 6.
