Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now on the big screen all over the world, bringing wild surprises from start to finish in its 126-minute runtime. Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter were only the beginning of the shocking reveals as Doctor Strange explored various corners of the Multiverse alongside Wong and the Scarlet Witch.

Marvel took what it did in Spider-Man: No Way Home with new characters and took it to a whole new level this time around, particularly by introducing the star-studded Illuminati for the first time. This continued in Doctor Strange 2's mid-credits scene, in which veteran Hollywood star Charlize Theron was introduced as the powerful sorceress Clea.

Theron's inclusion in the MCU had been the subject of rumors for quite some time ahead of Doctor Strange 2, even though she had spoken a while back about never having been called for an opportunity at that point. Now, following her surprise inclusion in this movie's post-credits scene, she's broken her silence on joining the MCU for the first time.

Charlize Theron took to Twitter to address the public for the first time about her role as Clea in the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Theron shared a picture of herself from a red carpet event in a purple dress, reminiscent of the costume that she wore at the end of the film. She added the caption "Cat's out of the bag" along with her post, which can be seen below:

Doctor Strange 2 Introduces Clea

Clea was one of the dozens of rumored characters that were set for potential appearances in Doctor Strange 2, especially considering she's one of Strange's most well-known love interests in the comics. Her introduction in this movie was reported as far back as February, and now, Theron finally gets to celebrate it with the Marvel fandom, even if it has to be subtle at first.

Theron becomes yet another A-list star to join the MCU after Marvel Studios celebrated the franchise's 14th anniversary, bringing one of the most powerful magicians ever seen in the comics to the big screen. Her resume speaks for itself, which includes major action films like Mad Max: Fury Road and the end of the Fast & Furious saga, and she now finds herself alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as his MCU mainstay continues his journey.

Theron's future with Clea is very much a mystery, especially with no signs pointing to when a third Doctor Strange movie may go into development, even though she was rumored for this film for most of the last three years. But for now, she appears thrilled to have the opportunity to become such a key player in Marvel Studios' more magical movies, particularly with the Multiverse now open and the Dark Dimension on the horizon once again.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters worldwide.
