Marvel Studios has a storied history of having one of the first major franchises with multiple starring characters crossing over thanks to 23 interconnected movies that comprise the Infinity Saga, with plans for more as soon as the end of this year . The MCU has also become such a pop culture phenomenon that it has been mentioned across multiple different factions of other TV shows and movies all over Hollywood.

A new press release has arrived teasing another reference to the blockbuster comic book movie universe, and it may just be one of the most daring and ambitious crossovers ever thought up...

Bart the Bad Guy The Simpsons

Thanks to an official press release from Marvel Entertainment , some of the MCU’s biggest names will he taking their talents into Season 31 of The Simpsons , which is now streaming on Disney+. This MCU-centric episode titled “Bart the Bad Guy” features the voice talents of Maria Hill actress Cobie Smulders, MCU star directing team Joe and Anthony Russo , and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige .

The episode was officially announced last year with the synopsis:

Bart accidentally sees a brand-new superhero movie a month before it comes out... and the world cowers before his newfound plot-spoiling powers. Thus, a new super-villain is born: Spoiler Boy! Can heroic movie executives stop Bart before he succumbs to the temptations of ultimate evil?

While this won’t have any direct impact on the MCU, it should be quite the experience seeing some of the franchise’s biggest stars shine on one of the longest-running and most popular animated shows of our time. With Bart Simpson reportedly using his knowledge of a new movie’s spoilers to get whatever he wants in Springfield, it will be fun to find out exactly how this leads him into his interactions with the MCU’s top brass.

Considering Marvel Studios and their history with keeping spoilers from the fans, it seems like a perfect match that they would be the ones to run into Bart during an episode like this. Whatever the outcome turns out to be, fans of both properties are absolutely giddy about seeing a crossover that nobody could have seen coming.

This episode of The Simpsons , along with the show’s entire 31-season catalog, is streaming Disney+ now.
