Warning — This article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian Season 2.

The sophomore run of The Mandalorian is already successful in the eyes of many fans, but the season finale took it up a notch by featuring the show's biggest cameo to date. When Season 2 began last October, some fans were expecting a stockpile of cameos of fan-favorite characters from the Star Wars mythos due to the plethora of rumors that surfaced online beforehand.

Even though fans already had an idea of what to expect, the full-fledged appearances of characters like Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano still caught them off-guard thanks to their impressive portrayals from Katee Sackhoff and Rosario Dawson, respectively. Still, the fun didn't stop there as the Season 2 finale included the most popular Jedi in the galaxy far, far away.

Mark Hamill returned as Luke Skywalker during "Chapter 16" of The Mandalorian Season 2, ultimately connecting the show to the larger Star Wars universe in a surprising way. As expected, the hit Star Wars show became an instant trending topic on social media, and it's not just fans who took part in the discussion online.

NEWS

Several cast members of The Mandalorian shared their reactions to the epic Season 2 finale on social media.

Rosario Dawson, who plays the live-action Ahsoka Tano, posted a hilarious reaction video of a laughing-crying Pedro Pascal, representing the overwhelming amount of emotions that the actress felt when watching the finale. In her caption, Dawson even admitted that she “cannot stop talking” about "Chapter 16" of the hit Star Wars show.

"Season 2 finale of 'The Mandalorian' got me like... I cannot stop talking about it."

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian lead star Pedro Pascal expressed his gratitude towards everyone who was involved in the show, and the actor even gave a big shoutout to fans.

"To Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni, all of our directors, the cast, the crew, all the magic makers behind 'The Mandalorian', and most of all to the fans. Please take a bow.

Fennec Shand actress Ming-Na Wen also revealed her reaction to the Season 2 finale by unveiling the official crew sweatshirt of The Mandalorian while also reminding fans to stay off social media to avoid spoilers.

Finally able to show off my Season 2 'The Mandalorian' crew sweatshirt! 🧡✌🏼

If you haven’t seen the season finale, I really hope you stayed off social media. you don’t want the spoilers. There are some BIG ONES!!!

Omid Abtahi, who portrayed Dr. Pershing, pointed out that being part of the Star Wars franchise is a “gift” while also citing the importance of the support from fans throughout the show's sophomore run.

It's always refreshing to see the reaction of the cast towards their own show, and this is a prime example that they are also fans of the source material. The genuine reactions of the cast members above will only boost excitement for the much-anticipated third season of The Mandalorian, especially after the latest finale offered more questions than answers on how the narrative will play out moving forward.

Luke's appearance in The Mandalorian was unexpected, and it's impressive that the cast and crew were able to preserve that big spoiler up until the last moment. Of course, aside from Pascal and Wen, it remains to be seen if Dawson and even Abtahi were both aware of Hamill's involvement as Luke in the finale given strict protocols of Lucasfilm and Disney to prevent story leaks.

Whatever the case, Luke's arrival opens up a lot of story possibilities for the Disney+ universe of Star Wars, and the very positive response from fans and even the cast members is solid evidence that the Jedi Master's appearance will not be a one-off.
