Zack Snyder's Justice League is the next big DC release, which will launch exclusively on HBO Max in early 2021. The project will finally give fans the elusive Snyder Cut, repackaging Justice League into a new format with additional scenes.

One of the major changes was the design for one of the film's main antagonists Steppenwolf, which now boasts a much spikier aesthetic. Snyder has been careful about what he shows of the character, though he did sneakily reveal a menacing look at the character in action. The Justice League director also recently released another imposing still of the character, alongside a new image of Darkseid.

New merchandise displayed Darkseid's full design for the project, and now another listing has given the other villain of Justice League the same treatment...

A NEW LOOK AT SPIKY STEPPENWOLF

Images of new products from the DC Comics Shop have leaked, providing a look at upcoming merchandise designs for Zack Snyder's Justice League.

A T-shirt design depicts Steppenwolf adorned with his new jagged armor and bearing a new design for his weapon, more akin to his comic incarnation. The Justice League villain is surrounded by the three Motherboxes from the project, in addition to red text of what is presumably his name.

A banner for the DC Comics Shop gives a better, close up look of the vectorized graphic for Steppenwolf. The image demonstrates the immense sense of texture now integrated into the design. Also featured is imagery of a Motherbox behind Steppenwolf.

Steppenwolf looks threatening as ever in these new images, being a vast improvement from the original design in the theatrical release of Justice League. The emphasis on Motherboxes in these promo images suggests that there will be more focus given to these devices in the new cut, possibly providing more context beyond their initial flashbacks.

These images also indicate that Steppenwolf will be wielding a brand new weapon in the Snyder Cut, befitting for this more armored version of the character.

Ultimately, this new design for the villain should prove to be much more of a challenge for the members of the Justice League, now being of a size and scale that matches his might.

Steppenwolf faces off against DC's greatest once again when Zack Snyder's Justice League arrives on HBO Max in early 2021.
