Ahead of the much-awaited Christmas release of Wonder Woman 1984, Zack Snyder paid tribute to Gal Gadot's portrayal of the Amazonian hero by sharing an image of the actress from her first day on the set of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Gal's first day on set in the costume July 2014, shot on my iPhone 6. I knew when I cast her back in the fall of 2013 she was not just my Wonder Woman, but a Wonder Woman for the world. So proud of how she's embodied this character with love & grace. #WW84 @GalGadot @PattyJenks pic.twitter.com/oxOTz2WvwP

As it is, Snyder's praise of Gadot's performance as Wonder Woman is refreshing to see from an audience standpoint. Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Snyder opened up about his decision to cast Gadot as the Amazonian hero, as a previous tweet from the visionary director confirmed that the actress was his top choice for the role.

While the casting of Gadot initially received backlash from fans, the actress delivered a top-notch performance in Dawn of Justice that was enough to convince them that she was the real deal. Gadot's portrayal earned admiration from DC diehards, and it ultimately propelled the Wonder Woman franchise to greater heights due to the success of her solo film back in 2017.
At this point, most fans will agree that Snyder made the right decision in casting Gadot as the DCEU's Wonder Woman. So far, the character is one of the bright spots of the ever-changing DCEU, and it looks like Gadot's future as Wonder Woman is far from over.
Aside from Wonder Woman 1984, Gadot is set to return in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and it's a safe bet that her role will be expanded in the much-talked-about director's cut. On top of that, the actress was also rumored to appear in Ezra Miller's The Flash film, but details about her involvement in the narrative are still being kept under wraps.
Whatever the case, Gadot's Wonder Woman will continue to serve as one of the cornerstones of the DCEU moving forward, and it will be interesting to see how the character evolves in the coming years.
