A few years ago during the production of 2016's Doctor Strange , actor Benedict Cumberbatch and the crew were filming scenes on the streets of Manhattan. As it turns out, the crew was shooting a sequence right in front of a comic book shop.
In the middle of their work day, Cumberbatch, (in full costume as Strange) and some of the crew decided to drop into the comic shop to give a quick hello. This, of course, quickly made its way onto social media back in 2016.

Today, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson took to Twitter to share his own footage of Cumberbatch's comic store meet-and-greet. You can check out the video below:
Never before shown moment. While shooting in Manhattan right in front of a comic book store, I spontaneously suggested to Benedict that he go inside and he agreed. pic.twitter.com/ge2DcqWpu1
This is certainly a fun little behind the scenes video and it's always nice to see these superstar actors interacting with fans. The fact that Cumberbatch did that whilst decked out as a master of the mystic arts is just the icing on the cake.
If you listen closely, you can also here Cumberbatch joke around with the clerks behind the counter before taking a photo, saying that it's "lovely to come off the shelf and say hello."
It's also somewhat intriguing that he used his American accent in these interactions as opposed to his natural English accent. We've heard of MCU actors continuously using their characters' accents on set, even while the camera isn't rolling. Most notably would be Chadwick Boseman reportedly keeping T'Challa's Wakandan accent on the set of Captain America: Civil War.
All in all, this is certainly a fun video of an experience that must have absolutely delighted the staff and customers at this Manhattan comic shop.
Benedict Cumberbatch will appear in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but beyond that, who knows where he fits in with Marvel's plans ?
