The latest Star Wars show is soon to hit screens and The Book of Boba Fett is already proving itself to be one to watch.
The post-credits scene from The Mandalorian’s second season set the stage for the new show as Boba Fett and his partner Fennec Shand took over Jabba the Hutt’s palace from Bib Fortuna. Trailers and teasers for the show have revealed that The Book of Boba Fett will follow the bounty hunter as he establishes dominance over the Tattooine underworld.
Tattooine is already quite a recognizable location for Star Wars fans with much of the Skywalker Saga taking place on the desert planet. Jabba’s palace also made quite the name for itself in the original trilogy, and it will be quite a nostalgia trip for fans to return there in The Book of Boba Fett.
Based on the latest teaser for the show, it seems that Tattooine and Jabba’s palace won’t be the only recognizable locations in The Book of Boba Fett.
Boba Fett Visits Star Wars Battlefront Location
A new teaser for The Book of Boba Fett has given a glimpse at a new location in the show. At the 0:15 mark in the trailer, Boba Fett and Fennec Shand can be seen approaching Slave 1 in a garage.
Fans on Reddit were quick to point out that this location bears a lot of resemblance to the Jabba’s Palace Garage map from Star Wars Battlefront.
The map was introduced in EA’s first Battlefront game with the Outer Rim expansion pack.
When compared it definitely seems like the garage from The Book of Boba Fett is the same one used in Jabba's palace in Star Wars Battlefront.
Jabba's Garage Looks Familiar
It appears this might be the first time a location from one of the Star Wars video games has been directly translated into a live-action title, which is a pretty big testament to the design of Star Wars Battlefront. Battlefront’s maps and story campaigns are considered canon in the Star Wars universe but haven’t had much of an impact on the main titles until this point.
There are a few obvious differences between the two locations. The Jabba’s Palace map that was created for Battlefront takes place in a timeline where Jabba the Hutt is still in power, hence his iconic sail barge can be seen. When The Book of Boba Fett takes place, it’s been years since Jabba’s reign ended, so things have changed somewhat. It will be interesting to see just how similar the locations are once the show premieres.
Given that Star Wars Battlefront created multiple maps set on Tattooine, including Jabba’s Palace and his garage, it makes sense some of them might appear in The Book of Boba Fett, seeing as a lot of the action seems to take place here. It will be interesting to see whether any other aspects of Battlefront’s level design make it into the Star Wars series.
The Book of Boba Fett premieres on Disney+ on December 29.
